Democrats are using a sneaky tactic in order to win elections this fall. The New York Times reports that Dems are “working behind the scenes in a number of tight races to bolster long-shot third-party candidates who have platforms at odds with the Democratic agenda but hold the promise of siphoning Republican votes.”

"In Nevada, conservative radio listeners have heard an advertisement promoting the Senate campaign of a “Tea Party of Nevada” candidate, Scott Ashjian. The ads criticize Sharron Angle, the Republican nominee and favored candidate of the actual Tea Party movement in the race against Senator Harry Reid, the Democratic majority leader. The ad was sponsored by a group backed by unions and casino and mining companies supporting Mr. Reid."

Dirty politics!

They’re doing the same thing in Orlando, Florida. It’s an attempt to get Alan Grayson reelected by siphoning votes from Daniel Webster.

They are doing that here in Michigans 1st. Wilson was hired as an alternate to run and its taking vote away from the conservative. Dan Benishek.

Wilson will not answer the question that was put to him. He was asked if the democrats hired him to run.

We already took down the “tea party” party in Michigan and charges are pending. Now we’re going after the secretary of state candidate who is connected to them.

They are welcome to do it here in IL in the race between Kirk and Giannoulias. The Dems are pushing Libertarian Labno as the only pro-life, pro-gun candidate, and they are even openly using their name on the literature.

Any TEA partier who falls for this crap isn’t paying attention and probably isn’t a TEA partier anyway. TEA partiers are not DemocRATS and are pretty tough to fool.

I believe that people that vote in midterms are more informed, and none would fall for such BS. Now, if this were a presidential election year, something like this might have a marginal effect.

Further Evidence of Deceptive Tactic and Alleged Fraud Builds Against Benson Supporters and Former Staffer
Lansing, MI — U.S. Congresswoman Candice Miller (MI-10) and Michigan Republican Party General Counsel Eric Doster released a report Wednesday from Speckin Forensic Laboratories providing further proof that at least some of the signatures by the Steffek fake tea party were forgeries “to a high degree of probability.” MRP calls on Jocelyn Benson to disclose what she knows about the Steffek fake tea party and her former employee’s involvement with it.

“As someone who had the honor to serve the people of Michigan for eight years as Secretary of State I understand well that one of the primary Constitutional responsibilities of the Secretary is to guarantee to the people of Michigan the integrity of our elections system,” said Congresswoman Miller. “The fact that someone running to be Michigan’s Chief Elections Officer would employ people who would participate in practices designed only to deceive and defraud Michigan voters is very troubling. <<

The same thing is apparently being done in NJ-3 to siphon votes away from Jon Runyan in favor of Adler.

PING!

I got a flier from the Michigan Democrat tarty today with a picture of my republican county commissioner on it. In the photo he's holding a sign with a swastika on it. The sign has been photoshopped.

I was at that protest and got several pictures of the sign. Mine is the color picture on top that I took from across the street. The black and white photo is the one they're using to smear him.

I've already sent both photos to the local newspaper and told them I have more if they want them.

They are doing it in MD-1. Just today received literature re: the Libertarian candidate, courtesy of the DCCC.

It is weasely worded in a way that might allow them to say it is an opposition ad, but the clear message is that the guy is representative of Tea Party politics, and it is being mailed to Republicans.

And since the guy is no threat to win, there can be only one reason to even mention him...

Re: Nevada and the bogus tea party candidate

It is even more blatant that the article states. The head of the “the Patriot Majority” group running the radio spots attacking Sharron Angle and supporting the fake tea party candidate in Nevada, Scott Ashjian, is Craig Varoga who just happens to be the former communications director for Harry Reid.

God help us get rid of that slime-ball, Harry Reid!

I did read this and I have thought about it. The states mentioned - California, Nevada, and Pennsylvania - are winner-take-all states, meaning that a plurality rather than a majority is needed to win. Georgia has a different system. A majority is required to win election here. That makes a huge difference. In California, a third-party vote won't count against either candidate. In Georgia, a third-party vote counts against BOTH candidates.

I really can't make this any simpler for you to understand. I am voting against Thurmond. Thurmond needs a majority of the votes cast to win. Mine is included in the number of total votes. My vote won't be for him. Thus, I effectively negate a vote for Thurmond.

something similar in Pinellas Co...’Tea Party’candidate for Fla State House is really a Dem from a different County trying to take votes from the Rep candidate.
