It’s all about the COST of Gov’t, and that is the cost of PEOPLE. I don’t know California, but here in NY, there are 95,000 state bureaucrats making more than $100,000 per year. And their pensions are set up so that their 3-5 highest years average is what they get after they retire.

There is plenty left to California but you see it dying bit by bit more and more. There was a culture of courtesy that is been dead for over a year now.

Everyone who goes to college these days is out making fun of those working minimum wage jobs, even though the graduates will be lucky to earn anything.

Had a social counselor there who spend her time telling juvenile offenders to go serve in the army, for “the discipline” she said.Apparently there is no imagination or decency left either.

Mostly it is a society in denial on just about everything,if Mexicans or Asians or whatever act up in a way that make them noticed. Then you will overhear about a thousand ethnic slurs on that ethnicity within the next few weeks.

Along with people who say “No worries” to one another as if we were sharing a border with Australia instead of Mexico.

I have a young friend who is a Navy recruiter, he said you would not believe what is showing up to join the military.

I don’t care. I’m leaving California in two years, when I retire from my PRIVATE SECTOR SELF-EMPLOYMENT (an endangered species out here). I’m not going to be the last taxpayer standing when the lights go out.

Probably the only real solution.

And therefore, the only one that will not be considered.

And this retired military veteran that had some minor brushes with the law in High School is scratching his head thinking..."What's wrong with that? Military service put my head on straight."

I went shopping in the Goodwill Stores in California, and no one has any good stuff to give away, it’s all real junk. The quality of life dropped in many ways, trash on the streets, courtesy in driving, the State has gone South.

Sorry, this comment is so random. Which Goodwill? What city? We have shopped at several Goodwill stores in Northern CA and found great deals on nice clothes for our kids. Trash on the streets? Again, you make it sound like the entire state looks like France on strike -- ridiculous generalization. Yes, it's liberal hell here and that stinks, but there's still a lot to love. Less than before, and probably less every day, but not widespread and rampant like you're implying.

Sounds just like the socialists/communists who immigrate here. They work really hard to turn this country into the shit hole they left.

I’m kinda looking forward to the total meltdown in California. It’s a great example of the damage Democrats do with their inane/insane ideas.

I sure hope the poor Delta Smelt survives the whole nasty mess.

I think people should clean up their own messes. That’s why I’m against being a safety valve for Mexico.

I kind of think they (Calif & Brown) deserve each other.

But I’m also smart enough to know the Baraqqis are gonna send a ton of our money there for bailouts.

How'd they get in this fix? Then-Gov Brown signed 1978 legislation allowing collective bargaining for public employees. That started the payoffs to buy votes. Wholesale looting and pillaging had begun.

"Not my fault."

REFERENCE No single act has changed California for the worse more than this one. Before 1978, there was a relatively small state government. Employees were protected by civil service. Pay was lower than comparable jobs in the private sector but job security and good benefits – plus the old notion of “public service” – drew many talented people to work in government. Today, the primary goal of powerful public employee uions is to get the Legislature they bought and paid for to enact a new law making it illegal for any city or county to declare bankruptcy without guaranteeing union contract terms.

Now Brown wants to be governor again.

Rampan drug use, Hollywood, illegal immigrants, liberal spending - what’s not to like?

The Dems knows well that California has a few electoral votes.

Our Dem debt will simply roll over to the other states.

I think they are running from other people's behavior. The consequences of other dolts who with a majority vote in all the bonds, Democrats and great society ideals are all sinking the state.
The business and people who make real money are leaving the state, as they should if they can IMO.

I did 7 years in the army,I don’t disagree that it can change individuals.Yet you’re basically just telling them that there is nothing out there except the Army.

All she did was tell them to join the Army, only advise she gave to them.I have no problem with anyone joining the service but if you see it as a reform tool then every soldier or ex-soldier looks like a reformed criminal.

And honestly as far as I was concerned, her attitude was that these kids left polite society by committing a crime and now should do the next step in leaving society and join the army.A very quasi sociopathic attitude.

Which in lib-society is still pretty much a criminal. No matter what these kids do,service in the Army may help them but that is not going to look good on a resume in California.
