Mr. Anderson did good work. I remember all the characters he created as they were a part of my childhood (okay, I’m that old). Considering the competition he faced from Disney and others, I think he did very well.

Ooh! That Boris and Natasha were always up to no good! Didn’t Rocky and Bullwinkle come on with “The King Leonardo Show”? Along with Tooter and the Wizard joining in the fun? Which one did Odeo Cologney (I think he was the skunk) come on with - Leonardo? - And who was the character who was “loyal and true blue”?

Could never happen today. Anderson got his start with “Crusader Rabbit”, and there are people who would be offended by “Crusader Rabbit” today.

And God forbid we should have a cartoon featuring Porky Pig.

That’s all, folks.

Don’t forget Mr. Peabody and The Wayback Machine. Or Fractured Fairytales.

Jay Ward's first name was actually the letter J. In The Simpsons episode where Homer finally discovers his middle name, another generation's erudite animation team plays sly homage to this pioneer: Homer's middle name is -- Jay.

Let's separate the wheat from the chaff amongst the R&B fans. Trivia question: Who are the two characters with Rocky and Bullwinkle?
