(CNSNews.com) President Barack Obama repeatedly has called the United States a big, messy Democracy" in his many campaign stops around the country in recent weeks.
I know that a lot of times people wonder, gosh, you know, why did it take -- why did health care take so long [to pass]? Obama said at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) fundraiser in a private home in Providence, R.I on Monday. Well, this is not a monarchy we live in. This is a democracy. And its a big, messy democracy.
And theres supposed to be debate, and theres supposed to be contentiousness, and its supposed to be hard to make big changes, Obama said.
On Oct. 21, The Oregonian reported on Obama's trip to the state to stump for Oregons Democratic gubernatorial candidate, John Kitzhaber: "I told you during the campaign it was going to be hard," Obama said on Oct. 20. "Some of you didn't believe me. This is a big, messy democracy and the special interests won't go down without a fight, and sometimes it can wear you down."
The president also used that description at an Oct. 23 DCCC fund-raiser in Minneapolis: And so, yes, things don't happen as quickly as we want; theyre not always as smooth as people would want, Obama said. This is a big, messy democracy. Thats the nature of America. Its always been that way.
In an interview with New York Times reporter Peter Baker on Oct. 12, Obama once again used the expression to defend what his administration has accomplished in the two years since he was sworn in as president.
''I make no apologies for having set high expectations for myself and for the country, because I think we can meet those expectations,'' Obama said. ''Now, the one thing that I will say -- which I anticipated and can be tough -- is the fact that in a big, messy democracy like this, everything takes time. And we're not a culture that's built on patience.''
High expectations for the country are envisioning how we can perform an abortion on this grievous error! Clean out the White Hut and return this imbecilic communist-muslim to the sewers of Chicago or the grass huts of Kenya!
Saw ONE Obama sticker while driving around all last weekend in liberal NorthEast.
Now his failure is OUR fault?
Time for this horse’s a^% to GO!!!
Well, at least he's got part of this right. We are not a monarchy, but we're also not supposed to be a democracy. Democracies are exactly as he describes them, big, messy. This is one of the many reasons our founding documents, if we actually followed them, made us a Republic.
And its about to get a lot messier for you pal.
The mistake needs to be removed, along with his retinue, from the White Hut!
This year he told us he didn’t need us!
Funny how the times change.
Now he is going to discover Republicans are relevant when they hold the power of the purse!
Stick a fork in it Barry; its not gone the way you want.
That’s democracy - see ya Tuesday!
Yes a democracy is “messy” for Obama who yearns to be a dictator.
When I see an Obozo sticker I let the driver of that particular car know that he or she can park in the handicapped slots.
“...and to the Republic for which we stand...
... under GOD....”
Gee - funny how he misses these minor details -
he’s just such a big-picture, inclusive sorta guy.
“Big, Messy, Democracy” Spoken like a true dictator-wannabe.
I love it - “White Hut.”
But ... don’t you mean Black Hut?
You KNOW how Obama FEELS about WHITES ... .
I call this America’s Rob Ford Referendum!
Nice mouthful don’t ya think?
If you thought the Suburban Barbarians in Canada were bad, wait til you see the GOP version.
The Democrat Mordor is not gonna win the day!
Hey. Bonehead. The USA is NOT a 'democracy'.
We are a Republic, ya moron.
“Big Messy Democracy”
0bama would love to turn America into a “Big Messy Dictatorship” if he could.
EB — I was thinking the same thing. We ain’t a true democracy. Our _resident Idiot strikes again!
He is clearly an obsessive compulsive neat freak.
He wants to organize all human beings into groups, color code them by race, age and sex.
To eliminate confusion everyone will be issued clothing to designate status and occupation.
Mao-like dreams from his Father.
“fundraiser in a private home in Providence, R.I...”
Looks like obuma only has two friendly venues to spout his garbage: liberal colleges infested with bed-wetting college students and backyard barbecues.
#2 has to be the $30,000 a plate dinners in the extreme-liberal homes of billionaires ridden with white-guilt.
Come on over here to Seattle. I see them all the time.
With that definition you see what Obama is talking about ~ first, that he sees the Republican party, or any party, as being identical to the Democrats, and second, that he cannot comprehend that private individuals acting in concert with other private individuals who may well not be part of the same class, race, occupation category, or "interest group" might well band together to PUSH BACK AGAINST the Democrat party's "special interests".
That's why Obama and his running dog lackeys spend so much time trying to identify the "special interests" or "rich people" behind any particular source of opposition to their ideas.
In short, all Democrats are in a trick bag of special interests from which they cannot escape.
We must marginalize them in every way possible and then remove them from political influence in this country.
What exactly is a “special interest”?
I’d say that unions and those who make their money feeding at the trough of the Federal pig are more of a special interest than anyone Obama is referring to in that quote.
I am seeing a lot less zero stickers here in Austin. There are not near as many Elmer Fudd (bill white) for governor as I expected to see. I don't think Elmer has a chance next week.
