6 Brazen Advocates of Slut Culture on the Pseudo-Feminist Left
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Cassy Fiano

Posted on 10/27/2010 5:59:30 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

Sluthood wasn’t always considered a virtue. Most normal, rational people look at sleeping around as something sad and wrong. It’s not healthy, physically or mentally, it can be damaging to a young girl’s reputation, and it can also be incredibly dangerous. Women that sleep around oftentimes end up feeling used and regret their choices when they get older and decide to settle down. Other women end up contracting STDs, which may or may not be treatable. For these reasons and more, being a slut is understandably looked down upon — it can be genuinely harmful. Today’s pseudo-feminists, however, have turned that common sense logic on its head.

Sluthood is now, unbelievably, looked at in their eyes as healthy and empowering. Sleeping with random men every night is not sleeping around, it’s “embracing your sexuality.” This attitude has trickled down into our everyday culture, and it’s had an effect on young girls. Almost two-thirds of teenagers who do have sex end up wishing they hadn’t. Teens who have sex early are more likely to be depressed or suicidal. And while femisogynists act as if birth control and condoms makes sex absolutely risk-free, the truth is not quite as clear. The emotional consequences are clear; physically, the truth is simply that condoms are not foolproof. Consider that 1 in 4 teenage girls now have an STD. And pregnancy can only reliably be prevented through abstinence, something teenage girls need to know, considering that teenage mothers are significantly more likely to live in poverty and rely on welfare.

Does any of this sound empowering? While the slut culture hits young girls the hardest, it’s unhealthy for everyone, regardless of age. See, for example, how rates of most STDs have climbed since 1997, with the exception of gonorrhea.

This is the third time in a couple of days that I’ve read the title as “Brazilian Slut Culture.”

My daughters appear to be staying far away from this for now. Keeping a close eye on them though. One thing I’m trying to do is develop a sense of strong self-confidence in them. They shouldn’t find the need to sleep around to be popular.

Since a woman would be the executive in a system with three branches (for checks and balances of course) as part of a republic that democratically elects representatives, it’s kind of hard to call a the US with a female president a matriarchy. Also, could you please list the republics that have been destroyed by “matriarchies”?

Just look at the reality shows! I’ve blocked entire channels and numerous shows on others to keep it out of my house. Unfortunately my oldest daughter (she’s 24 with 3 kids by 3 different guys who are all deadbeats) is drawn to this garbage. For some insane reason she “needs” to see a lot of drama and is attracted to it in her own life.

About a year ago I heard an actor (name escapes me) on Dennis Miller radio show that came of age in the 60s in Hollywood. Promiscuity was the name of the game. The most interesting thing he discussed is how the guys were so interested in helping women get legal abortions then. He said it was sold in such a way, Tom Sawyer like, that women needed to have the right to legal abortions because they should have a say over their own bodies. He said in fact it was a male thing just to make it easier for them not to have any responsibility for their own sexual activity. The women fell for it and the rest is history. The women, nee feminists, got punked.

Excellent point.

Basically I think this entire aspect (sexual freedom) of the left-wing centers around the Marxist ideal of the abolition of family. The counter-culture movement and it’s sexual revolution were completely oriented towards the abolition of family and traditional morality.

It is anti-freedom and not pro-freedom at all.

Ah, but the difference is that this way the women choose to wreck their own lives, rather than letting some man do it. AND this way they are the ones who can wreck men's lives by using them like disposable sex toys. Obviously its ok the other way round, cos like, women have been exploited for centuries and millenia and now its time for men of today to suffer for everything that other men did before.

If you can't follow that it must be down to left-brain thinking. Sexist.

That probably describes a substantial majority of pro athletes.

This country will never survive as a matriarchy. No country ever has.

Israel survived Golda Meier adequately.

The bizarre thing about reality shows is that they are all, without exception, based upon the most artificial conditions imaginable!

So the angry fems on FreeRepublic can’t take the article for what it’s worth without making damn sure to attack men (who BTW are under constant attack from popculture anyways).
This article’s purpose is to help young women and their parents, but hey, don’t let that get in the way of your anger....

I have yet to see one “angry fem” response to the article. Maybe some responses, male or female, regarding the “matriarchy” comment. Too bad Margaret Thatcher isn’t here to make a comment on that!
