I am told that to get hired as a retail sales representative at Verizon you need a bachelor’s degree. Employers can be chosy.

Go to your local library or bookstore and read the book titled REAL EDUCATION. It was written by a co-author of the BELL CURVE. As an educator with an advanced degree I found it very provocative....and oh so true.

There does not exist, nor will there ever exist, a society in which 80% of the available jobs are professional, managerial, comfortable, and well-paid.

Are you insinuating that democrats and liberals are wrong? That we can't all live a life of leisure and minimal work? Such blasphemy!

Wasn’t the Dept. of Energy spawned to deliver us from the evils of imported oil?
Yea....right. Just another government bureaucracy to put forth edicts and regulations to complicate life more than it already is.

>>This blame falls squarely on politicians who have squandered tax receipts in order to get re-elected year after year.<<

Multi-national corporations have moved the majority of our manufacturing to China for a couple of reasons.

First, it's cheaper. Low cost labor, little environmental and worker safety regulation. No 401k’s, No health insurance, no pensions and a fraction of the compensation.

Second, the potential for a HUGE consumer class in China and India. Raise the standard of living for the average Chinese worker...guess what? You now have a consumer.

With a population 4 times that of the United States, both China and India are the place to be.

Thanx allot U.S. Congress, thanx allot.

#13 The number of people unemployed in the state of California is approximately equivalent to the populations of Nevada, New Hampshire and Vermont combined.

Wow. That’s one hell of a tax hit for the state. Goodbye Cali.

“Multi-national corporations have moved the majority of our manufacturing to China for a couple of reasons.”

Scary to think that Ross Perot said that “free trade agreements” would result in “...a giant sucking sound...” (of American jobs leaving for cheaper foreign labor).

Did you know that at IBM the employees now say that “IBM” stands for “India-Brazil-Mainland China” because so many American jobs have been “offshored”?

“Invest in lead.”

At this point, those who are not preparing for really bad societal problems can only be characterised as short-sighted and foolish. Having firearms and ammo on hand is a necessity.

The OP has at least 500 rounds for every gun.

I work for IBM’s competitor.....the jobs we haven’t sent overseas, we’ve shipped Indians and Chinese here on H1b visas.

They work for reduced wages, the company puts them up in apartments and so forth.

It’s freakin sad.

Ross Perot was right on the money...I now know, my vote was not wasted.

Plus, many of our state governments have high corporate taxes, I’d go somewhere else too where my total revenue is larger.
