JACKSONVILLE, Florida -- A north Florida mother has pleaded guilty to shaking her baby to death after the boy's crying interrupted her game on Facebook.
Alexandra V. Tobias pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on Wednesday and remains jailed. The Florida Times-Union reports that she told investigators she was angered because the boy was crying while she was playing the game FarmVille.

We need fast track courts for cases like this, where they can be tried, appealed and executed in 1 week.

Bitter irony really. All these successful and hardworking people have to pay through the nose, so they have to delay their reproducing so scum like this can have dozens, abusing one half while killing hte other half.
My sister-in-law and her husband have custody of their three granddaughters for this very reason. Both parents were so wrapped up in their video games that they pretty much ignored the girls. Even though daddy was in the military the girls had no medical care, no dental care, no school because it would have taken time away from the computer. SICK!
I wonder if this girl has some sort of brain problem, seriously. Look at her eyes, the irises are different sizes, her left iris appears to be larger, her left lid drooping.
I have a friend who is so addicted to Farmville that she flies into a rage every time I forward her a warning about the latest data harvest/privacy scandal. She has discarded a life for that idiotic pretend game, and that website.
In its defense I did enjoy meeting old playmates and classmates, but beyond an hour or two a week, it gets addictive and IMO, dangerous. I am gone from there for some time now.
Facebook, eh? How about we show the thing’s EXECUTION on Youtube!!!!

I see many women wasting their time playing those silly FB games even after FB’s acknowledgment of the makers selling people's info.

I think the penanlty for killing your own offspring like this is to have your reproductive organs all scooped out wether it be a guy or gal who does this.
And Jail time too. Lots of that too.

They are very much Pavlovian Reward systems that feed on the ability for humans to get stuck in postive feedback loops of “perform task, get reward”. It takes a special kind of dummy to get hooked to this sort of thing.
Familiar story, my son has custody of his kids too. The EX was an alcoholic who also lived on Farmville & would make the kids sit in front of the TV and NOT MOVE. Of course she did many other things, like adultery & DUI & group sex.
I had to quit facebook, because of all of my ‘friends’ sending me updates of their farmville game. Ugh.
You did not have to quit. You could have gone to settings and told it to hide those type of posts and you would never have seen them again.
I currently have 94 Farmville requests in my notification. I simply ignore them

Why didn’t you just block the application? It’s very easy to do then you don’t get the game and all of the other silly updates you aren’t interested in.If you move your mouse over the post a little X appear in the rigth hand corner that give you the option of blocking the application without blocking the friend.
It’s easier than that the option is right on the posting.

She’ll be out in 12 1/2 yrs. (25 = low end of sentence rec, half time off for “good behavior”)
