National Football League Backs Reid Over Angle; Invests $340,000 to Save Incumbent Congress

The National Football League’s political action committee—Gridiron PAC—has weighed in on the hotly contested U.S. Senate election in Nevada that pits conservative Republican challenger Sharron Angle against Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid.

The PAC has given $10,000 to Reid—the maximum it can give in a single election cycle—and no money to Angle, according to Federal Election Commission data compiled by OpenSecrets.org.

The NFL’s PAC also contributed to other incumbent Democratic senators facing viable challengers this year, giving $5,000 to Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas; $5,000 to Russ Feingold of Wisconsin; $5,000 to Barbara Boxer of California; $5,000 to Michael Bennet of Colorado; and $5,000 to Patty Murray of Washington.

In none of these races did the NFL’s PAC contribute to the Republican challenger.

I like college football . . . and will watch very little NFL for as long as they support socialism.

Does the NBA have a PAC too? It like football is filled with Obama voters.

I doubt the National Hockey League votes Obama.

The NFL should stay out of politics!

I assume their “unionization” has gone Democratic.

If the players strike next season don't let the locker door hit you all in the *ss.

Glad I’m not a football fan.

My prayer is that they have just thrown good money after bad.

May Harry Reid be defeated soundly in the election.

Wasn’t it not too long ago when the idiots who owned the Steelers endorsed and donated a substantial sum to a dummycrat . . . Would be nice if the NFL would just worry about football.

Don't blame me, I bailed on being a NFL fan 20 years ago when they started pushing really hard to social engineer the league. Most sports analysts are libs too, i.e., Keith Olbordork

Same goes for most other pro sports.

Dan Rooney turned the Steeler organization into an adjunct arm of the Obama Campaign in return for an ambassadorship in Ireland. It was truly disgusting.

Glad I’m not a football fan.

I really like hockey.
At least the NHL appears to spend all of their time
gumming-up the Canadian government.

The NFL would be wise to take a survey on the demographics of their PAYING fans...’nuff said.

Ennis Miller was a color man for the NFL but I guess he became too conservative so was given the heave ho.
