Jon Stewart’s rally raises questions about comedian’s role (Coca-Cola sponsors HuffPo buses)

Jon Stewart and Glenn Beck have a few things in common. The liberal and conservative cable hosts each described their respective rallies on the National Mall—whether to "restore honor" or "restore sanity"—as nonpolitical events. Neither walks in lockstep with Democrats or Republicans. And both often claim to simply be entertainers, while at the same time never shying away from weighty subjects like the economy and terrorism.

-snip-

Now the Huffington Post has lined up 212 buses leaving from the Mets Citi Field at 6 a.m. Saturday. (The buses will be equipped with snacks and drinks donated by Pom Wonderful, Stonyfield Yogurt and Coca-Cola.)

Comedy Central should be forced to provide a GOP Rally with equal time.

I’;ve pressed 2 and now listening to classical music while on hold

I hope everyone on here is calling too instead of just reading and then thinking others will do their calling for them.

My late father would not let us buy Coke when we were kids back in the sixties. He always told us they were a left-wing company. Things haven’t changed much.

You taught us well Dad!

Pepsi is sweeter though.

...and Pepsi sponsors # 48 Jimmie Johnson, NASCAR champion driver for the past four years.

Did they do the same for the Beck rally?

I don't know if the HuffPoo Beck counter-protesters had any corporate sponsorship.

I’m still on hold, too. I think when they get a bunch of calls, they just put on the music and ignore the callers.

I have the feeling that not much needs to be done about Stewboy’s rally other than to let it play out as it will.

Let’s see what the grounds look like afterwards, and let’s see what they handle the lack of porta-potties.

Is RC still around?? Can’t find it around here anymore. I laughed when you said ‘cheaper’. I remember when my husband and I were just married and we didn’t have a pot to ... (well you know) in and RC was so freaking cheap (seems like 1.50 for a 6 pack of 12 oz bottles and it was good. You sure brought back memories! lol

Fox News won't report this. They wouldn't want to lose Coke as an advertiser.

Pepsi also went over to the dark side.

leaving from the Mets Citi Field at 6 a.m.

Most won't be up by 6 a.m.

I think it's appropriate that they're providing another free ride and meal to the entitled free-loaders.

That Arrianna and Oprah are providing freebies just proves they know thier base.

I hope they are successful in restoring some sanity to these people...assuming they were ever sane.
