RUSH: Now, folks, I want to tell you something here. I saw that... Where did I see this? Oh! Oh! I didn't have a chance to reply to it. I got an e-mail from Mike Allen of The Politico last night. They're working on a story; they may have already run it.
Some Republican leader has told them that the Republican leadership is right now as we speak coalescing to find somebody to oppose Sarah Palin. They didn't identify whoever this "Republican leader is," so I can't tell you who it is, but they say that there's a Republican talking to them at Politico that they are trying to find somebody to beat back Palin, from the Republican establishment, because they are convinced that if Palin is the nominee, the party loses. That's, at least, what they say. It could also be they're scared to death that Palin wins it's the end of them: The Republican establishment.
Mike Allen wanted to take my reply, and I got his e-mail in the midst of a whole bunch other stuff. I just now remembered it so I haven't had a chance to reply. But let's see. This kind of thing, I think the reason I didn't drop everything and reply is 'cause the little antenna go up. It could be a disinformation campaign before the election. Why write a story right now about Palin in 2012? What's the point of running a story like that right now if not then to sow dissention in the ranks? But regardless of that, I don't want to go third party. You don't want to do it. It's gonna be tempting. Third party, you had it right the first time: Guaranteed lose.
How true can this be? Probably somewhat true since a politico article if true, like this will only rally grassroots and conservative support around her even more!!!
The RINO’s will turn against any conservative
That's, at least, what they say. It could also be they're scared to death that Palin wins it's the end of them: The Republican establishment.
I don’t doubt for a minute that the RINOs want somebody that they can play the same stupid games with. Just another example of why liberal-lite doesn’t work.
....what’s the background on this Mike Allen snipe?
Rinos will defend marxist before they will support conservatives.
I smell Mitt Romney.
and the RINO are especially enraged now that conservatives are doing so well
“the Republican leadership is right now as we speak coalescing to find somebody to oppose Sarah Palin.”
This is the problem in a nutshell. We want the people to choose our Conservative leaders not the Republican ruling class. That is what the Tea Party movement is all about. These RINOs are playing with fire.
Isn’t Politico the Headquarters of the Journ-o-list, that cabal that schemed & planned to help Mr. Obama and attack Governor Palin?
we all recall when the RNC refused to let her speak at the convention. You can probably name the culprits.
But a new day is coming and after Wed. we came take aim....
I oppose Rino’s I will not vote for Mitt Romney, Here in Michigan the Romney’;s did little but pad their pockets. The other thing is his religion is a problem for many evangelicals. Yes that is right evangelicals do not care Mormonism. I will sit the election if Romney is the choice. I had to hold my nose when voted for McLame, without Palin I would have stayed home. Look at Juan McCain a loser. Did you notice that the NFL gave Pelosi 10,000.00 MCCain received 2000.00. Cao from Louisana received some NFL money, even Sensennbrenner from Wisconsin received a NFL PAC Donation. If it is Rino it is nothing but a RinoDino. The conservatives need to go Rino hunting and shot them with a figurative spear.
Worse they are trying to undermine them examples Murkowski Castle Scazzafava(earlier) Crist so on and so on.
This story if true would actually helped Palin, not hurt her. so Politico would be too stupid to help Palin on purpose, This will endear more conservatives and grassroots people on her side and even independents who don’t like the Republican Party per say
Interesting. They liked her real well when they thought putting her on the McShamesty ticket was their ace in the hold.
If true, it will enrage the TEA party. We love Sarah-!
Yep....the Rove-suckups and clones will do anything and have already done much to impede the changes coming to our country.
My advice to Karl and friends...Get the Hell out of the way!
“Third party, you had it right the first time: Guaranteed lose. “
I wonder about that. Seems to me that there are lots and lots of folks dissatisfied with both parties...how can someone be so sure that it’s not a guaranteed win!?
It could be a disinformation campaign before the election. Why write a story right now about Palin in 2012? What's the point of running a story like that right now if not then to sow dissention in the ranks?
It doesn't make sense to push this story now - right before the election. Sounds like disinformation from the Dems...
>> They liked her real well when they thought putting her on the McShamesty ticket was their ace in the hold.
They liked her then because she was supposed to the final nail in McCain’s coffin. The RINO elite knew the economic meltdown was coming and didn’t want to be in power for it. They believed the media spin that the conservatives wouldn’t go for a WOMAN President and were shocked when we adopted her as our unofficial (for now) leader.
Look at your post.
You do realize that most folks could write better than that by the third grade, right?
Mike Allen is a Rove Conduit.
Trust me on this.
He got this from either Rove or Gillespie.
It doesn’t matter if we win or lose in 2012. Palin is conducting a scorched earth campaign against the Establishment. She means to recapture the Party for the Reaganites.
was?....did he suddenly see the light?
Journolists have âofficiallyâ disbanded. I doubt he saw the light.
Which is the sad pathetic truth.
I can smell Romney, also. He wants this so bad and he knows his only obstacle is Sarah in getting what is ‘his’.
JournoList never disbanded. All they did was change the name and ip address. Oh, and they didn’t tell the leaker the new one.
hmmmmm....so his letting Rush in on, is actually a baited hook hung in a tree.......useless. Something must be up, Rush has never fallen for such a lame attempt of s*** stirring.
LOL!! McCain was never in it to win it. Everyone knows that.
“I smell Mitt Romney.”
I thouht it was just me!
Any endorsement right now would say more about the endorser than the endorsee.
I can wait for for more days for dissension.
This thing smells like Romney and/or Rove. Rove just announced that he doesn’t believe that Palin would make good presidential material, he is very likely the —secret squirrel—.
Regardless, I don’t think that the “Republican establishment” is simply worried about losing their power because of Palin, I think they are far more worried about her bringing justice to the corrupt bastards that infest DC.
You are absolutely right. And a few people with very good forecasting records predict that 2012 will see a viable third party, with a real chance of winning. Why? Just as you said - the widespread dissatisfaction with the current crop in DC.
This is one of many things that disturbs me about the Rush's and Hannity’s of the talk radio world. They know a conservative third party should at least be considered given the sad state of affairs we face. But their still beholden to the GOP upperclassmen. They do a good job of trying to appear otherwise, but they fall short.
The rep. sure won big with Dole and McCain didn’t they..bunch of idiots...
Yes, he voted “present” to his own campaign. Too bad we couldn’t dump him in the primary. JD just didn’t have the goods.
Both Rove and Mitt would be my guess. We don’t need a former Gov of Mass. It puts him over more to the Bawney Fwank side than the Sarah side.
JD did have the goods but didn’t have the money.
McCain didn’t have the goods but had the money.
He used what he had - money. He didn’t have truth or his word to stand on.
I still hope AZ votes him out. Give it to the ‘rat like he gave us the ‘rat barry.
Does the Romney smell remind you of this?
“Before beginning the drive, Mitt Romney put Seamus, the family’s hulking Irish setter, in a dog carrier and attached it to the station wagon’s roof rack. He’d built a windshield for the carrier, to make the ride more comfortable for the dog.
“Then Romney put his boys on notice: He would be making predetermined stops for gas, and that was it.
“The ride was largely what you’d expect with five brothers, ages 13 and under, packed into a wagon they called the ‘’white whale.’’
“As the oldest son, Tagg Romney commandeered the way-back of the wagon, keeping his eyes fixed out the rear window, where he glimpsed the first sign of trouble. ‘’Dad!’’ he yelled. ‘’Gross!’’ A brown liquid was dripping down the back window, payback from an Irish setter who’d been riding on the roof in the wind for hours.
“As the rest of the boys joined in the howls of disgust, Romney coolly pulled off the highway and into a service station. There, he borrowed a hose, washed down Seamus and the car, then hopped back onto the highway. It was a tiny preview of a trait he would grow famous for in business: emotion-free crisis management.”
Wish I had a list of the GOP elites that would supposedly roll over Sarah. Just wish I had names.
Wish I had a list of the GOP elites that would supposedly roll over Sarah. Just wish I had names.
“Wish I had a list of the GOP elites that would supposedly roll over Sarah. Just wish I had names.”
The story is believable, in spite of Politico’s leftist tilt to stir the pot. Rest assured though that no current or potential GOP officeholder wants any attribution to this plotting, else the grim reaper would be at their door. Boehner, McConnell, Romney, Gingrich are currently “persons of interest” using today’s vernacular. The price of highballs is going up at the country club
I admit I couldn’t follow JD’s campaign that closely, so I take your word for it that he was an effective campaigner and that the main problem was lack of dough. To think we have McCain and Graham back riding sidesaddle makes me sick.
