U.S. Rep. Barney Frank received an endorsement from an unusual source Friday - a former Republican opponent.

Edward McCormick of Norfolk, who ran unsuccessfully against Frank in 1992, said he was supporting his former foe because of his superior knowledge of issues and his willingness to work with Republicans to get things done.

"Perhaps it's not every day in politics that a former opponent endorses Congressman Barney Frank. However, these are not ordinary times and as a Republican, I'm proud to support Barney Frank for re-election because of his leadership, commitment, and willingness to always hold true to his principles," McCormick said.

If Fwank is having to drag out opponents from a decade ago to help him survive, he is in trouble. Wonder which gay bath house they met in.

... [Frank's] willingness to work with Republicans to get things done.

Indeed. There were more times that could be counted when Barney Frank voted with Republicans on an issue that went against the Democrat party line, right?

his willingness to work with Republicans

I think the guy has Barney confused with some other ultraliberal blowhard who's helped trash the economy.

By knowledge of economy he must mean they shared a bath. This must also mean that the race was fixed back then.

Bwayney’s opponent in 1992? No body fresher? Wonder what favors he got. 18 years is a long time.

Hm. I lived in Norfolk, MA for 20 years — and I never heard of “Edward McCormick” — and the place is just a village...

Those brilliant, really really smart, intellectual-genius
Democrats are always superior, aren’t they.

Maybe they should take their superior intelligence and create another paradise in Cuba; with the permission, of course, of the brilliant, really really smart, intellectual-genius, Mr. Castro. Now there’s a really smart, really brilliant genius who helped change the world. (into a larger cemetery with unmarked graves.)

IMHO

I like it when establishment types self-identify. It will make it easier to separate them in future activity. This is happening 10x in the Angle-Reid race.

"Wonder what favors he got. 18 years is a long time."

A certain 1992 bath house video tape stays locked away in Barney's vault.

What we have learned in the last year is that a Republican can be the enemy just as easily as a Dem.
