Immigration issues split Kirk, Giannoulias (hope yet?)
Chicago Tribune ^ | 10/31/10 | Oscar Avila

U.S. Senate candidates Alexi Giannoulias and Mark Kirk both say they want tougher enforcement of U.S. border security, but they disagree on what to do with immigrants who are already in the country illegally.

Giannoulias wants to move forward with a broad plan to legalize illegal immigrants across the country. Kirk says any such reform attempt must wait while Congress focuses on ensuring the integrity of the U.S.- Mexico border.

For non Illinois FReepers. Most IL FReepers are not supporting Mark Kirk because he is insanely liberal. Actually worse than liberal. One very intelligent FReeper (Fieldmarshaldj) believes that if Alexi Giannulious wins he will be indited go to jail and our new CONSERVATIVE Governor Bill Brady will appoint a real rock rib conservative.

From what I'm hearing on the ground. Independents and GOPers are turning out in droves for Kirk so I predict that Mark Kirk will indeed win this election. Zero is here now trying to save Alexi and the corrupt Governor Pat Quinn (Blago's Lt. Gov).

Another IL FReeper who knows basically everything there is about IL Politics believes Kirk will pull an Arlen Specter.

So here is the question do we believe Kirk on immigration?

To me this is my number one issue. I lived in Naperville, IL which neighbored Aurora, IL which probably has more illegals than any city in the country. Crime is rampant, there are rapes, murders, drive bys, ect...

Alexi wants to legalize them, Kirk isn't going that far. So do we believe him?

On a personal note I met future Governor Brady Wednesday and he did throw his support for Mark Kirk. Bill Brady is a real solid conservative who will turn this hell hole of a state around.

If you live in Illinois and don't like Kirk, you don't need to vote for him, Go out and vote for Bill Brady!!!

Yeah so I am going to use this thread as a get out to vote for Bill Brady thread. He is the real deal guys!

I will be poll watching Orland Park. Bill has my cell number I already got authorization from the Orland Park Police Department to poll watch as I am not affiliated with any campaign.

DJ and Bill if you can ping the Chicago list I really want to have us rally the Illinois FReepers to get out and vote for Bill Brady.

Do we want another four years of Blago / Quinn? Or do we want the first CONSERVATIVE Governor since I've been alive. And there is no doubt in my mind Brady is conservative. I supported him in 2006 over that hag Judy Baar Topinka (whom I'm voting against for comptroller) and I support Bill Brady now.

As far as Kirk is concerned DJ and BillyBoy have made a solid case as to why not to support him. However, this should not dissuade us from calling our family, friends, neighbors and tell them get out and vote for Bill Brady!

Guys didn't one of you have a story that Mark Kirk went to the border to aid illegals???

If true this just proves more lies! But we HAVE to vote for Brady in droves, Zero is trying his hardest to steal this election from Brady, we have to stand up for Brady!

Assuming you are correct, even if Giannulious were to be indicted (and convicted after various appeals- if all goes well), none of this would transpire before the brief lame-duck session is over. There are some rumblings that Dingy Harry might try a “scorched earth” policy and try to cram the Dream Act down our throats. Giannulious supports the Dream Act and would be seated in Nov. to be a vote for it. Kirk could- perhaps- be a vote against it (or at least a more watered down version of it).

Thoughts?

There were many contentious threads regarding voting for Kirk. I will admit to everyone that I have been working with their campaign specifically with poll watching because they have the strongest campaign team in the state. Kirk's campaign is a megalith.

A lot of IL FReepers are voting third party, my dad is voting for Kirk, my friends are voting for Kirk because they despise Alexi.

For me, my number one focus is to go to every poll in Orland Park and call the police on every union thug violating election rules. I'm going to Home Depot today and buying a gigantic tape measure, chalk, and then I'm bringing my camera and video camera as evidence of the thugs violating election law.

My goal is to get atleast one democrat arrested Tuesday. I should twitter it! LOL!

For all other IL FReepers if you need an election guide regarding the judges and lower races I recommend you contact BillyBoy he gave me a ballot of all of the conservative candidates which I am allowed to take into the voting booth.

I made copies for my family and it is absolutely simple to follow.

The judges are very important and we are blessed to have BillyBoy as a FReeper because I think he is the foremost expert on Illinois Politics (and he gave me lots of signs for my yard and my families yards!!!)

Sounds good. Just remember the new rule: always have a buddy along with a second video camera so you can get two angles of whatever happens. The Libs will try to accuse you of various crimes and ‘harassment’ in whatever you do- best to have a second bit of evidence that you are correct.

We haven’t heard from the Bishops yet on not voting for pro-choice Kirk.

Kirk would vote for the DREAM act without hesitation, and declare on the Senate floor that anyone who opposes it is racist. He has consistently REFUSED to pledge to oppose it on the campaign trail. Watch Kirk's campaign ad en espanol about how "latino families deserve a Senator who will fight for them" if you have any doubts. He's ain't trying to appeal to law abiding immigrants in that ad:

Mark Kirk: Latino Familias
