Brack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden made their last campaign rally appearance in a nearly half-empty college arena in Cleveland today.
CBS News' Mark Knoller Tweeted that the Democrat National Committtee says that the 13,600 seat arena had about 8,000 in attendance for the rally held at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center.
Before the rally, the Associated Press speculated that the crowd was not going to fill the arena.
Obama's (sic) was expected to appear about 2:30 p.m. at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center. A crowd was trickling in about an hour before the president was expected, raising questions whether the arena, which can hold up to 14,000 people, would be filled.
At 1:30 p.m., only the lower bowl was full, though hundreds of people had crowded onto a portion of the floor before the stage.
DNC says there were 8,000 people at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State Univ. Full capacity is about 13,600.

Blame the NFL.
Sounds like they have that college demographic really energized for Tuesday!
Sounds like at least 5600 union employees are planning on going to work tomorrow and couln’t make it to this Klownfest.
Obummer’s magic has faded. The Hope and Change is over. The so called new Camelot is gone. The only thing left is Obummer to shake the dew from his lily. The Pissant is going the way of Jimmie “Peanut Farmer” Carter -, Carter will no lonnger be known as America’;s worst President, Obummer will become America’s worst Pissant
Sweet! Obama’s getting smacked down in OHIO!
Maybe because most of the people were at the “Return to the Sanitarium “ meeting in D.C.
They could get 35,000 people to show up to watch garbage trucks dump their loads at the dump.
Thats because Obama’s unemployed base is at home watching NFL on their big screen plasma satellite tv’s.
The Browns have a bye week. They will have to blame it on Lebron. Oops. He’s gone, too. Are the Indians still playing?
College kids who voted these nimrods in now have degree’s, student loans and NO JOBS! They’ll learn, from the school of hard knocks! Elections have consequences
OMG! That picture is quiet telling! That’s great. Maybe he should have brought the Moose with him. She’s so extremely popular don’t cha know.
I’d say this is pitiful — that a sitting president can’t draw more people than this! Speaks well for Freedom and Good Sense!
Get the people who reported on the Colbert rally to count the audience - it’ll be a full house in no time.
NYT also reporting “thin crowd”:

CLEVELAND - OCTOBER 31: Protestors shout while U.S. President Barack Obama and U.S. Vice President Joe Biden speak during the president’s ‘Moving America Forward’ rally October 31, 2010 at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Obama has been traveling the country campaigning for Democratic candidates leading up to Tuesday’s crutial midterm election.
Mr. Racist gets a white crowd.
LOL! I bet he drew a few hundred union workers and govt union employees. They were told they “better” show up.
Sitting president and VP!! Biden must be pulling his plugs about now.
Looks like the presidential seal didn’t even bother to show up!
Can’t blame the NFL — the Browns have a bye today. And, remember, this is a city where nearly half the population is black. Looks like, despite all of his blatant race-baiting, SOBama is losing the Old Black Magic.
Looking up isn’t going to help him.
I love all those empty seats... ;o]
Well, at least TOTUS showed up.
The sadest part of the whole Onada thing is that he has probably delayed, for the foreseeable future, the election of a credible and eligible black person to the Presidency.
He should be tried for treason!
For the first time in my adult life, I’m proud to say I live Cleveland....
They rather watch the Browns.
Don’t worry, no matter how you spell it, it’s the sound a chicken makes.
Yes, even in their bye-week!
It happens everywhere he goes........hehe......
Grammy award-winning hip-hop artist Common performed for the crowd, saying he was drawn to politics by the ideal Mr. Obama stood for. Mr. Obama also stumped Sunday for the election of Democratic U.S. Senate hopeful Lee Fisher, Mr. Stricklands current lieutenant governor who trails Republican Rob Portman by double digits in public polls.
Even a hip-hop “artist’ couldn’t lure them in.
Pal, if you think that's the "saddest part" of his occupation, you need to pay better attention!
They really needed to invite 67-year-old Father Guido Sarducci to give the benediction if they wanted to appeal to the young voters.
Maybe a lot watched SNL last night and
thought it was real.
The show opened with a message from “ Vice President Biden “ sitting at his desk.
The amiable dunce Biden character starts talking about how important the
upcoming election is .
Then he says “ We’re going to get our asses handed to us.
It’s going to be a good old fashioned bloodbath.”
He goes on to compare the upbeat attitude of the trapped Chilean miners with the upset US voters.
He advises that when you go into the voting booth-ask yourself one important question
“ Are you above ground ? “ and then he says -” that’s all I’ve got.”
He closes with :
“ So, when you go to the polls on Tuesday .....or not.....or not.
Like I said ....bloodbath.”
SNL won’t touch Barry or Mooch, but, this was pretty funny and timely.
Why is there a sign for BarackObama.com and where is his Presidential seal on the podium? This was an election event for Democrats and local politicians...why is there a banner for him?
Makes no sense.
“Half Full” ahhh.. optimism!
Pretty sad considering REO Speedwagon, Styx, and Night Ranger can get more people than the President of the U.S.A.
Cleveland Steamer rolling through Ohio.
You know that somebody has to post the “Hail Brak!” thing from Space Ghost.
Interesting, it looks like most of the blacks were moved behind Obama for the pics. weird.
