SALT LAKE CITY — In many ways, just looking at Elizabeth and her sister Mary Katherine today tells the story of how long "Elizabeth Smart" has been a household name throughout the nation, and how long their family has waited for justice to be served. Around the world, the picture of Elizabeth in her "missing" poster, of her in her yellow vest jacket with her hair pulled back, became ingrained in people's minds.

Things were a lot simpler in the old days, safer for prospective victims, and cheaper for the taxpayers. Take him out and string him up from the nearest tree.

Justice delayed is justice denied. And how many millions of dollars will this cost the taxpayers, while states are running huge deficits and people cannot find work?

That’s too quick. Perform surgery on him first.

That comment is tactless as hell. The girl was kidnapped and raped. That is nothing to make sport of.

I remember when I heard they had found her ALIVE. I was driving my daughter who was maybe 11 at the time to dance. I got chill bumps all over my arms and felt so happy for Elizabeth and her parents. I was shocked but very happy the family.

Five page article with photo slide at the link.

My prayers are for beautiful, courageous Elizabeth Smart and her family.

Conviction of this pedophile and execution by firing squad might send the proper message to his ilk.

Justice delayed, but not yet denied.

The unwavering reliance on their faith has been the rock to which the Smart family has clung throughout this nightmarish voyage. It will hold them up through this pending trial, as well. I don’t think I could have been as calm and patient through an ordeal such as this.
Mitchell deserves whatever fate comes his way.

The day they found that sweet child was one of the happiest days of my life. So many prayers went up for Elizabeth from all over the world.

Yeah well the young lady survived her ordeal, thank God but her parents had the habit of bringing home homeless people to do ‘’odd jobs’’ around the house and no doubt felt they were doing their Christian duty. They bought into their home the animal that kidnapped Samantha in the first place.
