R.I.P., G.O.P

The Grand Old Party, known to many as simply the "G.O.P.," passed away during the recent election season.

Despite having once been known for such luminaries as Lincoln and Reagan, in recent years the party had slipped into a near-comatose state of minorityhood and, under the leadership of a continuing parade of elder statesmen, had demonstrated an unfailing ability to reach across the aisle and compromise principles in the name of "getting things done."

It is survived by a group of aging professional politicians whose primary interest has been their own political careers and assuring the blessings of continual reelection upon themselves and their cronies.

Those close to The Party say it was asleep at the time of passing.

GNP - Grand New Party - No RINOs allowed.
That has a fine ring to it.

This fellow has hit a respectable nerve... The current GOP elitists that think that they will continue to be in charge is over. The people rule.

This may not be the election to prove it to them, but it will be apparent in 2012. We the people will decide and they will be on the outside looking in. If that does not work, then there will be a third party that will put them in the minority anyway... That is a good thing.

I sure hope that I live to see this day... Both of our parties are so corrupt that it may take a third party to change things.

....”The Grand Old Party, known to many as simply the “G.O.P.,” passed away during the recent election season”....

Laughable! You think Republicans are now irrelivent? Let me guess? Rand and Ron are the “NEW” darlings of the “New” GOP?

Listen. Tea Partier’s and RONNIES FOOLS don’t add up to a spit in the bucket. Do you honestly think that either could win ANYTHING without the mainstream GOP?? “A few radicals yelling loudly will do it!” See, Obama, Barrack.

You do not represent even 10% of people here!

Enjoy “YOUR” “victory” Tuesday!

It is the mainstream GOP voting AGAINST Barry Obama, that will win the house, not some foolish third party nonsense!

But FOOLS never get it, do they?

You seriously need clue, dude. I make my living as a professional by spotting NEW, SIGNIFICANT TRNDS. The Tea Party is a new trend like you’ve never seen in your political life. Think bottom of market, 1932.

Not sure what you mean? You saying that if the “tea party” was a stock, buy it, because it’s like buying any stock in 1932? A reasonable analysis.

Do you honestly think that either could win ANYTHING without the mainstream GOP??

You mean, like, the primaries in Alaska and Delaware?

Of course the 'brilliant' minds in the establishment GOP has done all they can to ensure the dems win those races, or one of their devine right candidates.

I'm not in favor of a third party move at present. I perfer the GOP be taken from the establishhment by conservatives. However, political parties come and they go. Both the dems and repubs are corrupt.

You are right, though, fools never get it.

The 3d party is the RINOs who lose. Murkowski, Crist, etc. They’re all the same, they actually get on the ballot, and some years they’re going to win.

With the tea party, it should be fairly easy to win. We’re getting 6 tea party senators if there’s the tsunami. And only 1/3d of the seats are up. 6x3=18, and there’s good reason to think that we’ll do better next time.

The Republican Party was born in the Tea Party of its era as a third party in 1854 out of the northern Whig Party, so if the Republican Party disappears in the next few years, it wouldn’t be the first time in American history something like this has happened.

Personally, I think the GOP establishment will either jump on the bandwagon, or pick up their marbles and go play with the Democommies.

Charlie Crist of Florida is a perfect example of the latter.

Yep, if that does not scare the elitist GOP (read Rhino) folks then they will and should go down with the rest of the life-time politicians.

I agree, if they do not conform, they will be voted out in 2012!

Charlie Crist of Florida is a perfect example of the latter.

As you are well aware, Crist is but the latest and most prominent example. The GOP is about to receive an enema.

You FOOLISH third partiers, just DON”T GET IT!

It is a good thing the rest of us do!

I don’t favor a third party and said so.
