Despite 40-year sentence, Khadr (Gitmo terrorist) likely to go home in a year (US deal)

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVY BASE, Cuba — A military jury on Sunday gave teen terrorist Omar Khadr a 40-year prison sentence for killing an American commando in Afghanistan, but the sentence was merely symbolic — the United States already had agreed to limit Khadr's prison time to eight years, and Canada last week said it would allow Khadr to serve the bulk of his sentence there.

That agreement will allow Khadr to be released from prison by age 32, if not earlier under Canadian parole provisions.

The Toronto-born Khadr also admitted that, in the days ahead of his capture, he planted mines intended to maim or kill U.S. and allied forces. He was captured near dead, treated by U.S. forces and sent to Guantanamo soon after his 16th birthday.

Canadian militant Omar Khadr revelled in US killing

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11632651

Self-confessed Islamist militant Omar Khadr cheered himself up during his time in custody by remembering how he killed a US soldier with a grenade, a military tribunal has heard.

Khadr pleaded guilty to five charges, including conspiracy with al-Qaeda terrorists and murder in violation of the laws of war.

The media cannot even report point blank that Obama plays lawyer for killers/terrorists. Obama sits in the WH, vacations, does nothing but defend radical terrorists.

Drudges's accurate title

Gitmo killer sentenced to 40 years; Obama admin deal cuts term to 8 years...

The MSM covering for Obama is WAY OUT OF HAND.They are acting anti-American like their corrupt leader.

We have to just kill them in their caves or on the battlefield. Since we won't interrogate them effectively, they are not going to be as valuable as informants as they were in the past.

BTW - What did WE get in this deal?

Obama will claim that he did this because the trained from birth terrorist is 16.

Why does Obama do nothing but be on retainer for radical terrorists and destroy our country and the MSM covers it up?

Are we living in the twilight zone? Seriously if any other POTUS has done what Obama has the MSM would be calling for their resignation.

He should've never seen his 17th. After his release he'll likely go right back to his old job.

Agreed of course. The question is why does Obama care about a teen terrorist more than our country?

Look on the bright side- when he comes back and kills a few thousand of us, we can issue a warrant for a capital crime, rather than the mere felonies we have him on now.

Then if we catch him, if he does not suicide, we can try him and sentence him to death, if we get that far.

It’s all part of a grand strategy, you see.

I don’t understand why all of these people aren’t just being put to death.

If you are a terrorist whose mission in life is to kill innocent people, that should qualify you for the death penalty - nothing less.

Hopefully he doesn’t come back here - he will live pretty comfortably in our system.

So what good is a federal government if I can’t perform its most important function of defending America? I think we may do a better job without it, but that’s just one man’s opinion.

The Khadr family has been involved with Al Qaeda for twenty years. They chose Canada to settle and set up an Islamist charity to support the mujahideen. The Canadians must have a dossier on the Khadr a foot thick. The fact that this SOB would be returned to Canada in a year, and that he would be released shortly after, is an indication that both nations have capitulated to terrorists.

Perhaps actions like this explain why a majority taking the poll on my blog think Obama should be IMMEDIATELY tried for treason.

Another terrorist captured planting IED’s was a Dutch citizen. He was on video bragging about sucessfully blowing up Americans. We sentenced him to life in prison. He was transferred to the Netherlands to serve his sentence.

A few weeks ago they released him because “six years was long enough.”

The question is why does Obama care about a teen terrorist more than our country?

The kid's father was tied to a Chicago terror charity called Benevolence International with ties to Iraq; some of the figures associated with that were also seekers of uranium. This charity was in turn involved financially with the terror charities Global Relief [also of the Chicago area] and Help the Needy [of upstate NY] which was involved with IANA and Human Concern Intl.

Our gov seems to have an allergy to any cases involving Iraq, Chicago and uranium.

[Omar]Khadr’s father, Egyptian-born and Canadian citizen Ahmed Said Khadr, generated enough public pressure in 1996 to convince prime minister Jean Chrétien to intervene when he was facing charges in Pakistan in connection with the bombing of the Egyptian embassy in Islamabad. He died in a battle in Pakistan in October 2003. ————Mounties uncover Al Qaeda cache

I got back from GTMO last night on the OMC flight. I sat through all 7 days of the trial (Mon-Sun).

It was a travesty in every way.
