Eugene Robinson: Hard To Argue Obama Ire Not Based On Race (It's starting already?)
Investor's Business Daily ^ | November 1, 2010 | Eugene Robinson

Posted on 11/01/2010 4:15:09 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The first African-American president takes office, and almost immediately we see the birth of a big, passionate national movement — overwhelmingly white and lavishly funded — that tries its best to delegitimize that president, seeks to thwart his every initiative and manages to bring the discredited and moribund opposition party roaring back to life. Coincidence?

Not a chance. But also not that simple.

First, I'll state the obvious: It's not racist to criticize President Obama, it's not racist to have conservative views, and it's not racist to join the Tea Party. But there's something about the nature and tone of the most vitriolic attacks on the president that I believe is distinctive — and difficult to explain without asking whether race is playing a role.

One thing that struck me from the beginning about the Tea Party rhetoric is the idea of reclaiming something that has been taken away.

At a recent campaign rally in Paducah, Ky., Senate candidate Rand Paul, a darling of the Tea Party movement, drew thunderous applause when he said that if Republicans win, "we get to go to Washington and take back our government." Take it back from whom? Maybe he thinks it goes without saying, because he didn't say.

On Sunday, in a last-minute fundraising appeal, Republican presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee implored his supporters to help "return American government to the American people." Again, who's in possession of the government right now, if not the American people? The non-American people? The un-American people?

There's an obvious answer, but it's one that generally comes from the progressive end of the political spectrum: Americans must fight to take back their government from the lobbyists and big-money special interests that shape our laws to suit their own interests, not for the good of the nation...

My God. Eugene Robinson is absolutely demented regarding race relations. 0bama is not even up for election - it's Congressional Demcorats that are taking the hit this time around for the pain and suffering they have inflicted on the American people and the only things that ER can talk about is 0bama and race.

Eugene - get over it and stop injecting race where it doesn't apply. You make yourself sound like a broken record with your sick obsessions.

The only color we hate is the color red, and these red sons of bitches are next to go.

From http://soquelbythecreek.blogspot.com/2010/08/socialists-in-united-states-congress.html

The following members of Congress are Marxists and terrorist coddlers who have rebranded themselves as “Progressives” in an attempt to hide their agenda

Nancy Pelosi was one of the original members of the “Congressional Progressive Caucus” and only left when she was named Minority Leader.

She is now Speaker of the House and 2 heartbeats away from President of the United States.

The Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) was established in 1991 by five members of the United States House of Representatives: Representatives Ron Dellums (D-CA), Lane Evans (D-IL), Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Maxine Waters (D-CA), and Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Then-Representative Bernie Sanders was the convener and first. The founding members were concerned about the economic hardship imposed by the deepening recession, the growing inequality brought about by the timidity of the Democratic Party response at the time.

Additional House representatives joined soon, including Major Owens (D-NY), Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), David Bonior (D-MI), Bob Filner (D-CA), Barney Frank (D-MA), Maurice Hinchey (D-NY), Jim McDermott (D-WA), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Patsy Mink (D-HI), George Miller (D-CA), Pete Stark (D-CA), John Olver (D-MA), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA), and Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

All members are members of the Democratic Party or caucus with the Democratic Party. There are currently 82 total declared Progressives including 79 voting Representatives, 2 non-voting Delegates, and 1 Senator.

Using information from the Center for Responsive Politics (OpenSecrets.org), I separated the members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus into four groups, based on a subjective review of his or her major contributors. Where appropriate, there is a link to an associated video highlight of the Congressman’s/women’s sheer brilliance.

The truth is that the left uses race to effect the vote because they know Americans are not racist and very sensitive to the subject.

Not so much anymore, the race card is played out. It's worn out. Try something a little more current,

The Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) is a Marxist-Leninist political party in the United States, established in 1919.

Emerging from the organized Left Wing of the Socialist Party of America, the first American Communists sought to build support among American workers to overthrow capitalism, support the Soviet Union and implement what later was known as Stalinism by establishing a dictatorship of the proletariat in America.[1] Fearful federal authorities reacted with a campaign of suppression, forcing the Communist movement into an underground existence of secret cells, where it was consumed by sectarian political infighting amongst the radicals themselves. At the behest of the Comintern the underground Communist organizations were unified and eased into an above ground existence over the course of the next several years. Bitter factional wrangling continued to grip the party throughout the decade of the 1920s, however, ending in the expulsions of Trotskyist and Lovestoneite factional dissidents.

The coming of the Great Depression and the emergence of fascism in Europe created a great opportunity for the CPUSA to build public support and to expand its role building the US labor movement. The party also was a leading voice in battles on behalf of African Americans, fighting racism in their own ranks and lynchings in the South in seeking social equality of the races. At the same time, the CPUSA aligned itself with the Soviet Union and the ComIntern under the leadership of Joseph Stalin. Elements of the party were systematically employed for espionage on behalf of the Soviet intelligence service.

The most successful element of the communists propaganda campaign over the last 50 years has been to terrify right wing politicians with threat of being accused of "McCarthyism"

Its high time that communists are exposed and not allowed to hide under "Liberal" and "Progressive" labels.

These cockroaches in Congress and the media will scurry back into hiding once the lights are turned on.

Unrelenting attacks on the enemy within, in the form of prosecutions of the corrupt members (that would be about 95% of them) of the "Congressional Progressive Caucus", would be a good start, the leftist media is already mortally wounded, just need to be openly attacked as com symps by Palin or similar to be finished off for good.

Make the reds understand that their commie bullshit and race baiting will no longer be tolerated, they will NOT be stealing any more of the productive class money via the electoral process, and if they want a socialist revolution, they had better be prepared to do it the old fashioned way, at gunpoint.

Does this guy EVER go outside, and see what's happened to this once-great Republic?

What a buffoon.

Obama is not our first black President.

He is half white American and half black Kenyan.

I wish these high-paid journalists could get that fact straight.

"we get to go to Washington and take back our government." Take it back from whom?

If he asks that question in sincerity, he is just a plain, dumb socialist.

Again, who's in possession of the government right now, if not the American people?

Again, if Mr. Robinson had a brain and thought with it instead of his skin color, he'd notice that the "government" has passed law after law, imposed regulation after regulation over the will of the majority.

He might also notice that the Democrat party holds a number of seats in both chambers due to vote fraud and election corruption.

He might ask himself if the ideas put forth by his socialist leaders were so damned appealing, why to they cheat in every election? Why do they actively deny military personnel the right to vote?

Perhaps it could be that the disenfranchised members of the military would like to have a say in who runs the government. Novel idea Mr. Robinson?

Its high time that communists are exposed and not allowed to hide under "Liberal" and "Progressive" labels.

I always hyphenate liberal-socialist, and progressive-fascist when I refer to them.

That's certainly what they are and if they argue the point, there is plenty of proof to show that's what they are.

It’s Obama support that’s largely based on race. Obama ire is based on policy. Liars don’t have anything to say, if they can’t lie.
