About 20 years ago I concluded a West Coast business trip on Super Bowl Sunday. I found a place in San Francisco to watch SF win the game. When it was over I had to make my way to the airport to return home. I remember it being VERY slow going through the streets filling with celebrants. But there was no violence of any kind that I saw, nor do I remember any reports of any violence.

Things sure have changed, and not for the better.

It’s particular parts *ahem* of S.F. where the violence occurs.

One time, I was headed into the City after an extra inning game, and I foolishly chose to go straight up through Hunter’s Point in the very late afternoon. Traffic was bad, and kids were running out from between houses and throwing rocks at the cars.
