Races to Watch: East Coast Closings Could Indicate National Trend

Kentucky and Indiana are the first polls to close Tuesday on Election Night, followed by four states with competitive races that could provide a first glimpse at whether Republicans will take over the House — and if the new majority will have swept in on a wave or a trickle.
Republicans need 39 seats to gain a majority, but those in the predictions racket have been estimating somewhere between the mid 40s to the mid-60s for GOP pickups.

IN-8 is an expected hold in a R+8 district. The key races there are IN-2, IN-7 and IN-9. If we sweep those three, it’s going to be a long night for the RATS. IN-7 would be an absolute tsunami.
We’ve already picked up 3+ Senate seats from the Democrats and the night is still young...

Early bird clues on election results
For those who wish to have a leg up on your friends and neighbors concerning tonight’s election results, there are some early-bird clues indicating the direction in which the political wind is blowing.
First, contrary to conventional wisdom, a large turnout in some areas of the country is NOT good news for Democrats. In places such as Oklahoma, South Carolina, Alaska, North Carolina, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and West Virginia, voter anger at Washington is so intense that long lines at polling places indicates a Republican advantage.
Second, a high voter turnout in heavily-Democratic states such as Delaware, New York, and Connecticut spells bad news for Republicans and good news for Democrats. But in many of those areas turnout is expected to be low. In Delaware, for example, Democrat Chris Coons has already expressed concern about lower voter turnout in key counties in the state, which would be to Christine O’Donnell’s advantage.
Third, veteran journalist and political observer Mike McCarville reports that for the early birds there are 16 races that should indicate how the election will turn out. This is according to Wilson Research Strategies.
Out of those 16 races there are 10 tossup districts in the House. The other six are races the Democrats are expected to win. If Republicans win all or most of the tossups, plus 2 or 3 of the races Democrats expect to keep, then a 60-70 seat gain for the GOP is well within reach.
Those states and districts are specified in the McCarville article.
On the Senate side, Wilson states in the McCarville article that it will be possible to know how the election will turn out by simply watching the results of the first few races to be reported.
One of those is West Virginia, where the polls close at 7:30 PM. If Republican John Raese wins, one can bet that it will be a very bad night for Democrats in the Senate, especially if Mark Kirk wins in Illinois as well.

Half of Kentucky is in the Central Time zone. The lame stream media forgets. We should not. The people in western Kentucky are our friends!
We might have picked up 3 seats.....we really need to be patient and wait for the final. Exit polling is horrible. It is in our favor this time but in the past it was not in our favor but turned into our favor. We will find out many seats within the hour or so. It will be a great night!
Let’s just hope this exit poll data pulls us over the finish line 0 has a 54% disapproval rating according to the exits. This could be huge.
Coats will win. GOP Senate pickups 4+. That’s half the number the polls project them to win tonight.
