Well said. Obviously, those who expected huge 80-100+ gains in the House and a takeover of the Senate will be disappointed, but 50+ House/6-8 Senate was the consensus going into today from RCP, Cook, Sabato et all and it’s still early. Even 60+ is still a good possibility, and how is that bad news??

Calm down everyone.

Cripes, CNN is more confident of a GOP blowout.

50-60 seats is a pretty big deal.

Nate Silver at 538 had this rated as only a 41% chance of a takeover. If it was rated in the 50’s or 60’s I would be worried. I still believe we will be around 50 seats which is still an impressive takeover. The Rats had a year to have the fraud and SMEAR PAC’s in place, unlike 94.

Yes, but the fact people will put Reid back in office, and some other Dems with the state of the economy, our spending and debt, and the bastard of a healthcare bill that was passed, is shocking to me.

We will take the Senate too. Don’t be so pessimistic. Just watch the body language of the talking heads on CNN and MSNBC. It’s more telling than anything else.

I agree, but let’s not take anything for granted, either. Vote no matter how hopeless your candidate’s chances may look, and help others get to the polls if you can. Let’s play all four quarters of this game.

Wave is happening. Paul was not suppose to win. He did. You folks are buying to the media spin over the last couple days that we would push 100 seats. That BS. Anything over 50 is great. Stay positive.

Come on Barr. Don’t let them cheat you out of it.

I was listening to the 94 elections last night on youtube.

Now we know that was a blowout, a gamechanger for the repubs. But if you listen to the coverage, that wasn’t obvious. It was more like, “there are some republican pickups”.

I told my kids to expect the same kind of reporting tonight. Every republican pickup will be, “Oh, a pickup.” and the dem wins will be pushed with videos and screaming happy dems and anchors saying, well those are disappointed republicans!

Yep, people need to get out and vote! Don’t let the media or pollsters sway your determination! Angle and many other conservatives still need our help!

You have to admit that this is probably not the greatest news of the night. KY lead the way in the disaster that was the 2008 election.

Democrats probably punched the GOTV into high gear. This does not bode well for folks like Angle and O’Donnell

There are bound to be a few disappointments, but from an overall standpoint, I don’t think there’s any reason to worry. The polls at RCP had this race +14 for the Dem in July and September, followed by an October poll that had the Dem still up by four, so I’m not sure how realistic it was to expect a win here anyway. If Barr won, it was always going to be a mild upset.
