What is going on with Nikki Haley?
I can't watch local TV, but I heard from someone on the phone it was too close to call, which sounds insane considering that she was ahead by 10+ a week ago.
Thanks FA
There’s a 20,000 point lead by Sheheen (radio)? WTF?
Is it that she’s not white?
Is it that shes not white?
Don’t be silly. That’s not a real issue in South Carolina.
Right now, only FIVE of 46 counties have finished reporting: Marion, Dillon, Darlington & Chesterfield are in the Pee Dee and are LARGELY Democrat. Abbeville is in the Upstate along the Georgia border and is the least Conservative or Republican of any in that region of SC.
Five other counties have partially reported: Beaufort and Dorchester in the Low Country (VERY Democrat — with the possible exception of Hilton Head Island), Richland and Fairfield in the Midlands (VERY Democrat), and York County, which is in transition, but in urban areas remains largely Democrat).
Don’t read too much into the numbers yet. NO major Republican counties have come in yet.
What’s going on with this race now?
Lots of these democrat districts have to be heavily black, and I just wonder what could happen if we could ever make our true message known, that there is no difference between black and white, and that God really did create all men (people) equal, and that the mistakes of the past have no bearing on the future. That the openness of conservatism invites blacks and all other minorities to rise as far as their individual level of commitment would allow; that conservatism is about the man and that includes every man, including the forgotten man; that you truly may be whatever you resolve to be...
Not looking good. SC elects Lindsey Graham, now a possible Democrap Gov. I feel sick.
Governor — 690 of 2,136 precincts reporting (32%)
Vincent Sheheen [Dem] 176,930 52%
Nikki Haley [GOP] 156,803 46%
Morgan Reeves [Grn] 4,890 1%
Hold the presses!!
Vincent Sheheen [Dem] 239,393 49%
Nikki Haley [GOP] 240,970 49%
Morgan Reeves [Grn] 7,503 2%
I’m listening to the talk radio station in the Upstate, where conservatives are the majority. The radio guy is reporting that the lines in this area were so long that the polling places remained open until 8pm.
Thus, reports from the conservative areas are coming in about an hour late.

Indeed, looking at the reports on the State Elections website, it appears that NONE of the heavy Republican counties have reported, and that’s why Nikki remains about 20,000 votes down at this point. That is well within the reach of those counties to make up — IF indeed the turnout is as heavy as is being reported in the upstate Republican strongholds...
NEW UPDATE: 19 counties now reporting — including Laurens county in the Upstate (Republican county) — and Nikki Haley has taken the lead: Haley (R) 49.17% 262,098 votes
Sheheen (D)49.12% 261,845 votes
Reeves (G) 1.45% 7,778 votes
Now there’s trouble: with 21 of 46 counties in, including Nikki’s HOME county, Lexington, she is now DOWN again:
Haley 48.22% 277,063 votes
Sheheen 50.10% 287,866 votes
Fox just called it for Haley!
WHOA!
FOXNEWS has WAY more #’s than the State Elections are even reporting apparently! They just projected Haley the WINNER 52%-47%!!!!!!!!!!
Fox news projects Haley the winner, getting 53% of the vote.
Jack Spratt loses.
Good night for SC.
Haley just announced the winner.
1638 of 2136 precincts (77%)
Haley-R 52% 507,593
Sheheen-D 47% 459,510
Reeves-G 2% 15,049
Thanks for that. Shows it’s best not to take council of my fears.
CONGRATULATIONS SOUTH CAROLINA!!!!
YES!!!!!!
