Obama Failed To Communicate?
Creators Syndicate (Yahoo News) ^ | Nov. 3, 2010 | Brent Bozell III

Posted on 11/03/2010 4:10:20 AM PDT by Colofornian

Creators Syndicate – In one of his latest attempts to get his face on every television network in America before the election, President Obama appeared on "The Daily Show" with Jon Stewart to plead his case to the hip, young, leftist voters who love that show. Obama claimed he had done so much, "We have done things that some folks don't even know about!"

In a more serious interview, Obama told the Los Angeles Times the economic mess he "inherited" required him to take so many rapid actions that he could not "communicate effectively to the public in any coherent way."

This has to be the most ridiculous spin to emerge to explain the "Why Republicans Massacred Us" question: Obama somehow failed to communicate his "accomplishments." This man has been everywhere from MTV to CNBC to Univision to the entire NBC-Universal slate of channels selling his policies. And when he's not there, the reporters do his bidding regardless. How can a man who was sold to us as an absolutely magic combination of Lincoln and Franklin Roosevelt now suggest he was made "incoherent" by the economy?

First of all, in almost everything Obama did, the "inherited" economy always seemed like a lesser priority to other mountains he wanted to climb. That disinterest (also the disinterest in Afghanistan) was telling. But more importantly, perhaps no president in modern times has been granted more forums with more ring-kissing interviewers to explain himself. These people in no way ruined the effectiveness of his communications by asking hardball questions...

From the commentary: Obama told the Los Angeles Times the economic mess he "inherited" required him to take so many rapid actions that he could not "communicate effectively to the public in any coherent way." This has to be the most ridiculous spin to emerge to explain the "Why Republicans Massacred Us" question: Obama somehow failed to communicate his "accomplishments." This man has been everywhere from MTV to CNBC to Univision to the entire NBC-Universal slate of channels selling his policies. And when he's not there, the reporters do his bidding regardless...perhaps no president in modern times has been granted more forums with more ring-kissing interviewers to explain himself. These people in no way ruined the effectiveness of his communications by asking hardball questions.

This was also the angle Michael Medved on his radio show was taking yesterday...Here, a sitting president has access to not only the fawning liberal media, but his bully pulpit, and he claims he couldn't get his message of "accomplishments" out?

His very accomplishments were the problem!!!

Medved called this spin "the most pathethic ever."

Obummer is no Ronald Reagan.

There is no great affection for him in this country and there is enormous opposition to his policies.

He won’t learn from adversity and humility is not a quality noted in this President.

LOL!

People are on to him.

He “communicated”, all right.

Obama proved that he is an unabashed LIAR!

Obama lives in dream land and still wants to believe you are terminally dumbed down.

I keep waiting for Obama or Gibbs or, better yet, Pelosi to say, “That went pretty good, don’t you think?”

“We have done things that some folks don’t even know about!”

This scares me.

What don’t we know about?

Hmmm?

What we KNOW is already bad enough.

Actually, he did inherent economic problems. Economic problems caused by Barney Frank and his dem-party enablers. Problems caused by the relaxation of banking and loan standards that led directly to the financial meltdown. A relaxation driven by Frank and other dems and ignored by Bush (for God only knows what reasons).

So yeah, Obama inherited that. But he inherited it mainly from the dems (the the repubs could have stopped it if they had had balls, which they didn’t at the time... hopefully do now).

It’s going to be a lot of fun witnessing the coming financial collapse of California under Gov. Moonbeam and the looter labor unions...

Last night Marco Rubio did what inmamo could never do. He gave a fantastic extemporaneous speech.

His speech will be given again at the Republican Convention and Rubio’s nebula will outshine the brown dwarf that was Obama

That ignored by Bush, accusation is not backed by fact IMHO.

The election of the moonbeam is the death of California. If California was a corporation, the short selling would begin this morning.

The stock will be worthless within a year.

I can’t believe Jerry Brown got in.

Unbelievable!

Which only can mean everyone with a brain, has already departed CA. See Boxer win, also.

Or, there are a lot of very short memories residing in CA

Or, medical Marijuana done fried what remains of a brain.

Or, to be continued...

The Kenyan usurper will have another chance to "communicate" with his scheduled appearance at 1 o'clock today.

My guess is that it will be as much of a flop as his endorsements were in the election.

I think we DO know about some of those things ...

I think there's a civilian para-military force already in training .. and I think it is very black,

I think there are hundreds of thousands of embeds in the DMV-type of areas that are designed and trained to continue in the illegal observation and documentation of Americans

( They're not defeated, folks ... just a little recess in the day of the school of destruction )

I think the weaker ones were weeded out and a stronger more insane and tenacious remnant is left ... our true battle is about to begin.

Sorry to be a party pooper ... but I've thought about this strategically and if it was me that had had my hat handed to me, and I was the type to not give up, I would look at my situation and develope a plan that would probably be more effective in defeating my opponant/enemy.

Hell, I've already adopted that attitude as an older man ... I'll never winn a fight again mano a mano .. I'm too old and arthritic ... so I fight dirty (or fair(er), as the case may be ... ) I carry and will shoot you first.

I’ll dig up the facts for you later but here’s the recap I remember: In the early 00s, Bush did try to call attention to what was being done to the home-loan rules in the house and senate and he was dead right to do so. They were relaxing the standards of reserves that lending institutions had to meet to lend out home mortgage money.

Then Barney Frank said it was all BS and fannie and freddie were clearly healthy enough to survive on relaxed standards and BUSH BACKED DOWN, DROPPED HIS OPPOSITION.

I’ll get the details for you, but that’s what happened.

I think Bush decided he needed all the support he could get to prosecute the Iraq war and didn’t want to rock the boat on any other issue.

Talk about an Epic Fail...

Look, when it comes time to investigate the meltdown, it won’t work if the current repubs don’t investigate FAIRLY.

Really find out what really happened. And if that includes finding out that Bush dropped his opposition to those toxic policies, then that should be loudly proclaimed also.

(In this election year, please ask your candidates if they support repeal of the 1968 GCA.)

Nice tag line. Mine would start with the 86 law, followed by 1968, followed by 1934. Followed shortly by a massive amount of Machine gun sales, as the out gunned populace attempts to recover from years of government outgunning the people who allowed government to run over them. Reality says pipe dream, but dreams have kept the dems alive, and MLK’s vision, why not “the people”.
