Nowhere will Nancy Pelosi's loss of the House speakership be felt more acutely than here in the Bay Area, where her power has been used to help steer hundreds of millions of dollars into infrastructure projects.
"It's difficult working the halls of Congress when you don't have the speaker of the House who understands specific facets of your region, and isn't there to help set up meetings," said Jim Wunderman, head of the Bay Area Council business group. "There will be a price to pay."
San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed said the loss would be felt in the South Bay as well.
"To the extent that there was an innovation agenda in the U.S. Congress, it really came out of Pelosi's office, along with Reps. Anna Eshoo and Zoe Lofgren," Reed said. "I doubt the new guy, John Boehner, is even going to understand what Silicon Valley is all about."

You got that right! Boo Frickin’ Hoo!
More like no more pork for nancy’s hubby.
“To the extent that there was an innovation agenda in the U.S. Congress, it really came out of Pelosi’s office”
Also known as 5 trillion in deficit spending
So.......your city can't function unless Nancy is squirting some mother's milk in your mouths? Friggin' ridiculous. Figure it out San Jose. Washington is not your sugar daddy.
Poor Jimmy. Poor, poor Jimmy.
Yeah, no more support from a speaker for those who do not wish to have a world war 2 museum, no more cover for those who ban the ROTC, no more watching her jump up and down like an organ grinders monkey when (o)bama visits the Congress. Yeah, I am really going to miss that.
Dear Nancy and her family will miss the perks of the Speakers aircraft with all its goodies.
Take away her gavel and her private jet.
Maybe the mayor of San Jose and the San Fran wackos will miss the botox queen, but with her favorable rating of 8 percent, I don’t think anyone else will.
So, are they saying that the San Fran Bay area can’t compete against others without their having an insider’s advantage?
Why not put her to work cleaning human excrement from the San Francisco sidewalks--something she might be qualified to do?
They probably slipped a tiny hidden provision into the Stimulus or Obamacare that she gets to keep the plane.
she can have that friggin wooden hammer...just get the keys to those AIRPLANES...
Translation = where her position has been used to facilitate the transfer of wealth looted by the government to her backers.
"Every election is an advanced auction of stolen goods." H. L. Mencken
But, of course, the idiot voters were too stupid to elect them. California will soon collapse of its own weight. Memo to Boehner: NO BAILOUTS FOR CALIFORNIA.
Nothing does the body politic quite so much good as a vigorous (D)elousing.
Welcome to America San Francisco
Enjoy your stay
I sincerely hope the new refuge for migrating fowl, formerly known as San Francisco, is well visited by nature’s creatures.
for the rest of the country, like a dog misses fleas.
Well, TOO EFFING BAD!!
ummm...she’s still in the House guys. Tell her to work harder ;-)
Cue the violins.
Is there a pic of the wicked bwitch of the nether regions after the SElection?
I can think of a couple of opposite great locations for that wooden hammer head . . .
Clean your desk out bitch and turn in the keys to that expensive jet you ride home in..Time to save money on Gas..
or cleaning out the gay bath houses in SF. I’m sure she can open a club in SF and they can have a Pelosi night where the best tranny costume to look like Pelosi gets a free botox treatment

Fire Nancy Pelosi as Election Results from Americas Votes
By Andrew Zarowny
Yesterday, at long last, the November 2010 mid term elections took place. America voted, America spoke and America said Fire Nancy Pelosi! The two-term Speaker of the House was dethroned. Queen Nancy Pelosi won her local reelection for 2010 in Congress. But Ohio Republican John Boehner will most likely be replacing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the next Congress. The election results were also rough on Barack Obama. The Tea Party played a huge role in last nights victories from South Carolina to Utah. So what happened and why?
Since becoming Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has presided over the most partisan, the most Progressive-Liberal and the most cowardly Congress in history. Not only that, if all of that were not bad enough, they also spent more money in the four years she reigned over the budget than any other Congress has during a four-year period, adding nearly six trillion dollars of new debt on the backs of American taxpayers. I should also add that her Congress failed miserably to pass vital legislation, such as the budget for this fiscal year, something which was due back on April 15th. Some 13 funding resolutions are still sitting on her desk waiting to be voted on. Dealing with the budget is supposed to be the primary function of Congress!
Tuesdays election was less about supporting Republicans as it was about stopping the Far-Left agenda of Obama, Reid and Pelosi. They began in 2009 owning it all, the White House plus super majorities in both the House and the Senate. The Democrats could have passed any legislation they wanted to. They certainly did pass bills that the American people opposed, such as the health care take over and the carbon-climate Cap & Tax bill. Even their reform bill for Wall Street and the big banks failed to deal with the real causes of our current economic problems; Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the Federal Reserve, and the netherworld of the $700 trillion dollar derivatives market.
Despite having plenty of time to act on the soon to be expiring Bush tax breaks, Nancy Pelosi and her colleagues ran away early. Perhaps a compromise will now be resolved during the lame duck session between now and the end of the year. The White House is already floating a willingness to back down on its position, but will Nancy act?
Nancy Pelosi won her reelection bid for 2010, which was never in doubt. But the election results of have cost House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of her all-powerful position as John Boehner will most likely replace her. America voted and said Fire Nancy Pelosi as the leader of the Congress. There is doubt now that she will even carry on as Minority Leader. The Tea Party helped the GOP win key elections in South Carolina and elsewhere, leaving Barack Obama nervous about 2012. The legacy Nancy Pelosi will leave is one of never before have the so Far-Left Socialist spent so much in so short a time. Rumors that she may consider retiring would be welcome.
I hope they make her fly commercial when she goes home.
That’s hilarious. :)
Where’s a strong 7.5 earthquake when you need one?
Sorry for the 10 good folks that live there. Keep your insurance current!
[satire] when the big earthquake strikes and SF & California needs the entire US to help rebuild, the rest of US AMERICANS ask, "Can't you use your sanctuary aliens? Can't you mobilize your ROTC Cadets? Can't you repair your rubble while puffing pot? Can't you get those buildings rebuilt by chanting Ommm?
We would send in the military but we realize how offensive that would be so we WON'T!" [/satire]
You and I must have been 'Channeling' or it is a case of "Great Minds thinking alike" - see my Post #42!
Bwahahahaha! Cry me a river! Hey San Francisco, the country doesn’t like your airhead Congresscritter. Why don’t you stop embarrassing yourself, and vote for someone with intelligence? After all, you keep holding yourselves out as the smartest people in the World.
Because it takes someone with intelligence to vote for someone with intelligence. That lets the S.F. tokers out.
Thank God that annoying wench is going to be out of the House.
