The Question Everyone is Asking: Who gets the first subpoena?
American Thinker ^ | 11/3/10 | Ed Lasky

Posted on 11/03/2010 9:14:35 AM PDT by Nachum

There are many reasons to celebrate the Republican takeover of the People's House this morning. One of them will be the ability of Republicans to pull away the curtain and see what the Obama team has really been up to as it bullied Americans over the last two years. Congressman Darrell Issa will be very busy as head of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, holding hearings and calling in federal officials to testify about a wide variety of actions: the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case being among them.

There was a snotty nosed, elitist punk who was behind the “report people who complain about Obamacare” link on the WH website. He pretty much thumbed his nose as Issa. Wouldn't mind seeing him handed some soap on a rope on the way out the door.

My bet is on ICE and Interior followed closely by EPA.

I want to see Obamas papers.

Show the Birth Cert.
Show his college transcripts and passports.

This man is hiding something and we can’t afford to just let it go. The American people must know who is thier president.

If he’s clean and authentic fine but we must know the truth.

My wish list in no particular order and I am surely forgetting some others.

_______________

Freddie/Fannie cooking the books on the mortgage scam for executive bonuses. This really needs to be investigated because it cost the taxpayers billions of dollars. The fact that they lobbied congress and acted as a wing of the DNC as a defacto “government agency” violates the law.

DOJ - Black Panther decision

EPA regulations that have overstepped their bounds and taken on the role of congress. This is a huge one because hearings will make the Obama administration reluctant to try and force their agenda through agency regulation.

Gerald Walpin - Inspector General scandal... most people have forgotten about this one but it was very serious. Inspector Generals demand independence and forcing one to resign based on findings of an investigation erodes their ability to be watchdogs.

The Federal Reserve. It is time to pull the curtain back on this sham while a dollar is still worth something.

The house ethics hearings for Rangel and Waters should be more interesting now.

The criminal gift given to unions in the auto bailouts. Stockholders were abused in that one and any losses should have been distributed equally under the law.

I look forward to these and feel free to add your own. I prefer using a rifle to a shotgun and hope the house leadership does the same.

Eric the Red, Kathleen Supercilious, and Carol Browner.

Can you subpoena Emannuel? He’s now a private citizen.

You are right. That would be a good addition since it seemed that list was prepared in some smoke filled closet of the White House.

The truth always rises to the surface, but don’t expect an investigation by the congress into his eligibility. It’s not going to happen..but he may have to show us some documentation in relation to other inquiries(hint). Also look to the republican takeovers of many state legislatures....my guess is that laws requiring proof of citizenship for presidential candidates will be forthcoming before the 2012 election.

I don't think the public elected Republicans to launch another round of fishing expeditions looking for Democratic ethics violations. Not that there is nothing to find, but that isn't the Republican mandate. If the Republicans go down that road, there will be a backlash and their recent gains will be reversed during the next election cycle.

The public want solutions to problems, not endless partisan investigations and suppeonas. This isn't payback time, it's problem-solving time. Rubio, in particular, seems to understand that, even if Issa doesn't.

That was my first thought as well.

And I'd add whoever the Hawaii official is that has stonewalled access to the (incriminating) long form BC.

And how about immunity for Blago if he'll drop dime on the Rezko/Obama/Emmanuel corruption ring?

I hope nobody. Being obsessed with the past is how the gains of 94 got squandered. It’s time to govern the future not prosecute the past, hearing never accomplish anything. The first thing they should do is pass a federal budget in the House, making a big show of how it’s 6 months over due and we all know the still Dem controlled Senate will ignore it completely. Setup for 2012.

Actually, I need to add another:

George Soros.

Full subpoena of all financial records and communications with anyone associated with the White House.

Eric, my advice to you... make sure your lawyer reads things (unlike you when it came to the AZ anti-illegal immigration law... where you commented/shot it down before knowing what was in the law).

You better bring a tent and sleeping bag and provisions to your hearings because you're going to be there for quite a while starting January.

"I hope nobody. Being obsessed with the past is how the gains of 94 got squandered."

I agree. It's also how the Dems squandered their 2006 and 2008 gains. They wanted to revisit, over and over, every real or imagined scandal of the Bush administration, and the public got sick of it.

Add Harry Reid to that list.

How can a candidate go from 2-4 points ahead to 13 points behind?

Yeah, the public can barely tolerate the politics of revenge when things are going well. When the economy is in the toilet... well we see the results. The best thing a GOP House facing a Dem Senate and Pres can do is make a lot of noise passing lots of laws, watch them die in the Senate and get vetoed and be in a position in 2012 to say “we tried but they wouldn’t let us”. Try to shrink government, and the budget, and taxes, pass them over an over, own the agenda, own the noise, put the Dems in the position of being the “party of no”.

I can only pray that the first subpoena goes to a judge from the 9th circus, and that the judge is impeached...
