Success has a thousand fathers, and defeat has one, according to centrist Democrats who suddenly found their voices in the wake of electoral disaster. It didnt take long for the moderates who got bulldozed by Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and then discarded by the dozens in Tuesdays midterms to fix blame for the defeat. And for their progressive colleagues, it didnt take them long to blame the moderates, but they all agree on one particular goat for the debacle:
The partys bloodied moderates Wednesday released two years of pent-up anger at a party leadership they viewed as blind to their needs and deaf to the messages of voters who never asked for President Barack Obamas ambitious first-term agenda.
Liberals pushed back hard: The problem, they say, was those undisciplined moderates, who won delays, unsightly compromises and a muddled message from a too-accommodating administration.

All they had to do was just say NO
They can see which way the political winds are blowing.
You get two senator. Just two to flip and it's a new ball game. And they need to do it soon.
I think Landrieu is one. If she doesn't she will be voted out.
Blue Dogs need not apply.
Expect a rash of party switchers and retirements.
Next time around we isolate the rabid pit bull liberals into escape proof looney bins.
There is no such thing as a Democrat moderate! If you believe that I, for a price, can take you to a lake where you can watch Nessie and Bigfoot cavort at midnight.
Bayh can bellyache about Barry and congressional leadership, but he voted the wrong way. If he hadn’t of done so, he could have stood for reelection with a good chance of winning.
This proves that no liberal/progressive is capable of understanding the concept of personal responsibility.
Stupak was the perfect example of the useful idiot.
The last couple days I have been wondering if there are enough semi-sensible Democrats to form a veto-proof coalition in the House...
Probably not, but I can dream, right?
Amen. If these guys mean it, then they need to start their own version of the Tea Party.
All I know is my district dumped the biggest imbecile in the House. His name PATRICK MURPHY.
Last week this turd was complaining about “Florida” style tactics. He actually said to the local GOP: “Your messing with the wrong paratrooper!”
In 2000, this career politician wannabe voted for, you guessed it, GEORGE W. BUSH!. This ass clown moved from Philly in to Bucks County and switched parties when Bush’s popularity began tanking.
I look for him to move again and run as a Tea Party candidate. LOL!
I told you... The Dems will eat their own.. Fauxbama will face impeachment push by his own party soon... 2 to 1 odds.
Example: Local state dim running for state house. Claims to be: Christian, conservative, NRA gun teacher and 2d amend supporter, for lower spending, yada yada. But calls himself a dimocrat and supporter of the dimocrat party. When asked supports Obama, yes. Do you support the dimocrat platform: yes.
So, in my opinion, if he support Obama and the dimocrat platform, he supports abortion, gay marriage, spending, etc. THUS, in my humble opinion, I have great difficulty believing he supports less spending, and is a conservative. GOD will judge his Christianity based on his support of non Christian beliefs in the dimocrat platform support of gay marriage and child murder through abortion.
Just one man's opinion and beliefs and that is that!
P.S. Above mentioned local dim got smashed in the election by my winning state guy!
I don’t think we will see impeachment because there really is only about 15 months until lame-duck-ness sets in. If Obama has another bad six months, we will see a legitimate primary challenge which will consume his last year. If he recovers at all, the Dems will rally around the newly ‘moderate’ Obama heading into 2012. Either way, we will have the first round of battles between the House GOP and White House, and that will set the stage for the 2012 elections. Barring something significant popping up, there will be no discussion of impeachment by either party.
Who let the dogs out. Yeah!
Don’t think of them as being divided by philosophy, because they aren’t. Instead, think of Democrats as being divided into factions and gangs.
Europeans suggest in jest that Americans are either cowboys or gangsters, but they may be more correct than they know. In truth, the Democrats fit the profile of big city machine gangsterism, subdivided into factions.
For example, the Clintons were a product of the “Arkansas machine”, which is the last major statewide dominant political machine, so corrupt that Tyson Foods, a major Arkansas corporation, published a list of State offices, and the amount of bribes allocated to each one, no matter who held those offices.
But as such, the Clinton’s faction in the Democrat party are at odds with the powerful Chicago machine, which had been led by Mayor Daley, and produced Obama from its “black radical faction”.
Otherwise, the other big gangs, New York, Boston, the West Coast gangs and others, are always on the look out to increase their power at the expense of other gangs in the party. Alliances are always temporary, and there is lots of backstabbing and revenge in play.
After a political debacle like this, there is going to be a lot of infighting and scheming, while trying to keep a public face of unity. But don’t for a minute think that the Republicans can make “deals” with any of them, any more than honest police can make “deals” with street gangs.
What I am thinking is that all of these “Blue Dogs”, whether defeated or surviving, now have a GOLDEN opportunity to show the Speaker and her minions how happy they are after being RAMRODDED through the past 2 years. I predict that she won’t like her payback.
I’m sick to death of reading about how the Bluedogs were/are moderate/conservative Democrats. This is totally false; let me give you a good example to prove that assertion!
Here in CO-4 on the eastern plains of Colorado, single-termer Betsy “Blue Dog” Markey was just soundly defeated by Cory Gardner, minority House whip in the Colorado State Legislature. “Blue Dog” Markey voted for Obamacare, Porkulous, Cap’N Tax, Card Check, and every other big Obama/Pelosi agenda item. Every single one! Now does that sound sound like a moderate or conservative Democrat to you? No? Me neither.
But Betsy signed up for “membership” in the Blue Dog coalition last November after she tried to hide from her constituents during “Town Hall” summer, but got caught and roasted anyway. She has managed to hide very since then until she was laughed off the stage by the audience in her one and only debate against Cory Gardner last month.
Blue Dog my ass! Betsy was just a plain ol’ dog!
I was hoping for this. Everyone lives in fear of the lame duck session, but I think Dems that lost the election are going to be much more inclined to tell the leadership to “F-Off” than to cooperate in scr*wing the country any further. A lot of them where coerced into voting for Obamacare, etc. with threats of not getting any party help in their re-election bids. Now they have found out just what selling their souls has cost them.
House won’t be the problem, even if you got veto proof numbers there.. getting a VETO proof majority in the Senate is impossible.
