Skip to comments.(NM) Governor: Martinez Win Not Indictment of His Administration ("A national vote" Richardson says)

Gov. Bill Richardson took his lumps during New Mexico's gubernatorial campaign and said Thursday he wished he'd had the opportunity to punch back.
Two days after Republican Susana Martinez won a decisive victory to become the state's first elected female governor, the two-term Democratic officeholder voiced frustration at having his policies repeatedly -- and forcefully -- targeted by Martinez's campaign.
"My only regret is that I wasn't able to defend myself and the accomplishments of my administration in so many areas," Richardson said after a news conference in Santa Fe.
Richardson, who cited teacher salary increases, a decrease in DWI fatalities and renewable energy initiatives as among his top accomplishments, will leave office at the end of this year.
Despite having his approval numbers drop sharply during the past two years, Richardson said Martinez's 54 percent to 46 percent victory over Democratic Lt. Gov. Diane Denish wasn't an indictment of his administration.
"This was a national vote," Richardson said.

Rats make it hard to roll back regulations whether in DC or Santa Fe.
Richardson is as delusional as the rest of the Democrats.
NM list PING!

Hey Bill, take a hike, and never come back!
SURE IT’S NOT!!!!!/heavy sarcasm
Was it Richardson that was defeated? I thought his Lt Gov was running as a dem?
If the election was national, then it was a refudiation of Obama and Progressivism. So the lame-duck governor is contradicting Obama and the Progresives in the Washington power structure. And those in the anti-Constitutionalist media (but I repeat myself.)
Rat bastards don’t get any slimier than Richardson.
Seems to me like Richardson would be the *last* person to be bandying the word “indictment” about....
WOW!! YOU GUYS HAVE NO CLUE WHAT A tremendous win this was...OMG!! I am shocked beyond believe that Richardson lost...sheer shock!! TEAnami all the way BABY!!! There was NO way in the beginning this EVIL rat would lose...no way!!
Diane Denish, his Lt. Gov. was running. Ads from Martinez had her joined at the hip with Richardson and any picture of her made sure to include Bill in it.
Sure Bill. Snort, snort, snicker, snicker. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha.
In 88 I was on Lloyd Bentsen’s Secret Service detail when he went to , of all places, Shiprock NM........And Richardson came along . He was a joke, dressed in a drug store cowboy outfit that was two sizes to small and just the funniest thing I had ever seen. He looked like 220 pounds of crap in a 180 pound sack.
Way to go over there neighbor. You guys in New Mexico are awesome!!!
I like the sound of indictment and Richardson in the same sentence...
If in fact that were the case, Bill, then why didn’t Denish win? Or could it be the voters in NM saw her as a version of you with bigger breasts? (Or were those SMALLER breasts?)
Actually, I think he pushes about 260 these days.
So true!! LOL!
