Liberals worry GOP will attempt to impeach Obama

With the House now firmly in Republican hands, some on the left have and are voicing concerns that the GOP will attempt to impeach President Barack Obama.

While liberals, such as MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, the New Republic’s Jonathan Chait, and various bloggers wring their hands over the sinister hypothetical, the Republican leadership is denying that they have even considered the possibility.

“Liberal commentators are simply making things up,” Republican leader John Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel told The Daily Caller. “We have no plans to [impeach] the President. Our plan is to listen to the American people, who want us to stop the tax hikes, cut spending, repeal and replace ObamaCare, and help create jobs.”

They won’t impeach Obama, regardless of how bad things get. Just like Clinton, the Senate won’t go along with it and the media will defend him at all costs. It will result in another Democratic rally in elections.

If Obama has committed impeachable offenses then to avoid impeaching him would not only be unconstitutional but immoral and irresponsible.

I believe his blatant hijacking of the powers and property of the states and of the people in the pursuit of socialism easily comes under “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

But that is not for me to decide—it is the Constitutional duty of my Representative (it ain't Spratt no more ha ha)to introduce the Articles of Impeachment and my Senators' (the GREAT DeMint and butthead Graham)to remove him from office so as to be justly prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

I would not think impeaching will apply to Obama since he never qualified to be POTUS in the first place.

It would be better if he was told to resign, doing it for health reasons.

The only other course of action would be if Obama was unable to be POTUS because he was a victim of some sort of orchestrated maneuver to portray him as a hero and martyr. get him out of office but don’t tarnish the name any more as well. The nation mourns or parties the passing of the first ever elected Afro American President, and ten thousand schools change their names honoring him.

In all legality though he should be placed in house arrest and tried for crimes such as the use of a fraudulent SS number, just for starters. No doubt about it, Obama IS above the law, he could commit murder and nobody, I repeat NOBODY will step forward to stop him.

It is almost always true that healthy and effective corrections come from the inside, from a change within the “enabling” community. Impeachment is never a healthy thing for society and it is most helpful if those closest to the dysfunction take care of the problem.

If he were a a witness in a court of law, Obama would have already been impeached (he impeached himself).

He has demonstrated bias (by simply calling those who oppose him--half of America--"the enemy"), a lack of character (no explanation needed), dishonesty/inconsistent statements (no explanation needed), incompetency (no explanation needed)...

That said, before anyone dismisses or takes off the table the topic of a Presidential Impeachment, shouldn't the country at least get to see the evidence before jumping to conclusions.

I don't watch Ed Schultz except when flipping though the channels, but his state of high anxiety makes me wonder if, somewhere in his gut, he knows Obama might be guilty of an impeachable offense.

We have the trifecta (Senate, House and Governor) in so many states now; especially large ones, such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida and Virginia.

We should leav it up to the states to demand positive proof of eligibility in order to qualify as a candidate on the ballot for President.

They could even demand additional documentation (college transcripts, public documents related to law licenses or DD-214’s).

BS.... it didn't help the Democrats or Clinton at all, there was a Republican President who won in 2000...
The Republicans only lost 2 seats in the House in 2000, and the Democrats only gained 1 seat in the House....
The reason why Republicans in Congress didn't do well in 2000 had nothing to do with Bill Clinton's impeachment, besides, Bill Clinton could not run again in 2000 anyway, so ? how could that have helped Bill Clinton ? ...
The Democrats didn't win the Presidency until 8 years later, 2008... and the Democrats didn't take back Congress until 2006, where as ? the Republicans themselves where to blame for the lose, not Bill Clinton's impeachment.
