You know, I totally agree with Obama: he was not good enough of a salesman to convince the American public that a steam pile of Marxist horse doody was actually a gleaming pile of golden prosperity!
I think it is increasingly likely that Obama will see this as his only chance to completely overwhelm the system. His next two years will be more of the first two as he and Pelosi shove everything they can into the pipeline. I’ve always thought that he would be completely fine with one term if it meant he did enough damage to get the real job done, namely, setting the stage for a “progressive” revamping of the nation.
The first thing that needs to be done to build up this socialist dreamland of his is to destroy the existing system. In his mind, if he does that, he will be seen as a “transformational” president, our own Lenin, Stalin or Mao. And he will leave office and spend the rest of his life being paid millions to speak before adoring crowds, which is what he really wants to do.
