Wrenn is being silly if he thinks Ellmers won and Pantano, Miller and Johnson lost because Ellmers was a better candidate running a better campaign than them. The likely reason she fared better is she didn’t have any outside groups spending against her. That the NRCC didn’t help her probably worked out better for her in the end, since it kept her off the Dem group’s radar.

Renee had something going for her that the others didn’t and that was her opponent was caught on tape, obviously intoxicated, grabbing a young man around the neck and demanding “who are you” while the camera was rolling. It made national news, plus that district is one that McCain won by 52%...at least I think I remember it being won by McCain. If not obama won it by only 52%, so ..... was one republicans could most likely pick up, with the environment being what it was this time.
