The rise of the Tea Party movement shows "democracy works ," former President George W. Bush says in an interview to air Tuesday night on Fox News' "Hannity."
"Here's what I see. I see democracy working. People are expressing a level of frustration or concern and they're getting involved in the process," Bush told Sean Hannity in advance of the release Tuesday of his memoir, "Decision Points."
"And the truth of the matter is, democracy works in America," Bush said.

Tea Party Ping!
The US Constitution works....
Uh oh, here come the “Bush is a RINO!” posters...oh, wait...
Love and miss you, W.
Bush is a Rhino.. OK Party on Wayne, Party On Garth! God bless GWB!
Until America was safely delivered back into Adult's hands?
Exactly yet some people will be believe the guy who said this also privately said Sarah Palin is unqualified. I guess because he was treated so well be the press and the Dims and believes they are the final arbiters on who is smart? Still Dims get votes so some people will believe anything.
Progressive assholes and their ‘democracy’ sham. Democracy most certainly does -not- work.
I think he meant to say a representative republic works.
Thanks for the ping!
WOW! Thanks, Luv!
Too bad government doesn’t work.
Yeah, just like he meant to not pass new entitlements and grossly expand federal control of education in the name of ‘conservatism’.
Don’t get me wrong. He has his good points. But deep down, he’s just another north eastern blue-blooder just like his pappy and grandpappy.
Funny, we don’t live in a democracy.
We live in a Republic with a Constitution. That works fabulously!!
Mr. Bush is not a man to get in folks way or criticize their action but I always felt in his Heart that Obama and his Socialism may not be what he expected it to be. Americans by and large do not want government.
That may be his upbringing (which he could not change) but you can bet Texas is Texas because of this man. His legacy, including , will be nearly impossible to up-end.
The US Constitution works....
Yes! It must be preserved at all costs.
“.....but I always felt in his Heart that Obama and his Socialism may not be what he expected it to be”
Dick Cheney knew all along. I blame the likes of Carl Rove for giving W bad advice in many instances.
Mr. Bush is not a man to get in folks way or criticize their action but I always felt in his Heart that Obama and his Socialism may not be what he expected it to be.
Man, I am so high since we took back the country.
With its checks-n-balances, may I add.
Power To The People as it were !!!
The 'Tea Party' movement may not have eradicated all of the rot of career politicians in this election cycle, but it sent a clear cut message that it will do so eventually. Many rats and rino-rats still remain and it will take time to flush them all out and dump them into the dustbin of history.
The Tea Party is not Astroturf nor even a political party proper .. it is the real deal ... it is US(!!!) -- normal standard Americans who are sick and tired of schlock politicians wrecking our lives with their government money grabs and narcissistic malfeasance and whatever 1960's radical counter-culture nonsense they attempt to foist upon the American people.
'We The People' have HAD IT with them. All of them. And they all gotta go -- Pubbies and Dems alike
If this were a true democracy, Al Gore would have been president.
I haven’t been to Texas since before GWB was governor, but I can assure you that it was in fact Texas at that time. According to many who lived there at the time, it had been Texas for many years prior to that even. :)
I believe all of us here...AND Mr. Bush...know the difference! There is a democratic process that helped the tea party movement to produce wins....and THAT worked!
“I didn't think much of her in 2008, but in 2010, when I saw how savvy and SMART she is with this election, and how she became the Voice of the Tea Party, and how much she's upped her game, her knowledge and her expertise on foreign & domestic matters, I think she'd be a GREAT POTUS. Compared to Obama, she's Abraham Lincoln!”
You could say... that due to the leadership of the last 16 years that Texas is again its own Country, Sovereign.
Compare the state to other states in the union.
Obama is Bush’s legacy. For those who live in denial about Bush’s true leanings, there is a Bush-Clintoon charity organization which makes hundreds of millions of dollars in the name of charity every time a disaster strikes. Guess they don’t let a crisis go waste. Bush also supported socialized education and his close buddy Karl Rove revealed recently where his true loyalty lay.
When he beat Ma Richards, I felt like Texas had been released from an evil witch’s spell! LOL! We did get our sovereignty back!
Look at California: Did the Terminator do anything to restore and protect the state? NO
Look at NY: did any of their RINOs do anything to protect and restore them? NO
Look at the Carolinas: are they falling to pieces? YES
Look at Florida: is their electoral situation something out of Peyton Place mixed with Queer Eye for the Straight Guy ? YES
Look at Wisconsin: did they finally say No More Bullshit? YES
I could go on and on.
Privately saying she is unqualified isn’t the same as saying it publicly.
If he did say that those that make it public are violating Bush’s confidences.
Go away Bush! Wait til Fox News Sunday when the 3 hero’s of the RNC start babbling. The air will come out of the balloon quickly when the 3 stooges talk. They are going to outline their plans to keep the Ponzi scheme afloat. Disgusting. The RNC establishment will now come crawling out of the woodwork after we have worked our butts off for two years to save the USA from Obama.
Yes sir, Mr. President!!!
His is one book I will stand in line for. I want to shake his hand and thank him.
“Go away Bush!”
Indeed. The shrub and his daddy are ‘New World Order’ guys that helped pave the road so that the 0bama-Soros gang could drive us into a One World Government.
The best thing I can say about Bush is that he wasn’t nearly as bad as Obama is...
I’ll never get tired watching that. Need tissues.
So did he talk about how he “hates Sarah Palin”? LOL.
Democracy? Hmm that what the left touts all the time. We are not a democracy.
I agree, although their end goal is the same.
Junior Bush, like 0bama, Clinton & Daddy Bush all ignored the Mexican border issue.
Why build a fence if you’re only going to have to tear it down when we become part of the “North American Union”?
I defended this guy through thick and thin, heck my user ID is friend of george!
Hannity will ask him in the interview, GW better deny that he said that about Sarah!
Normally I would not be so quick to believe it, but a search using...BUSH ON PALIN, brings this supposed quote up as early as 2009.
Not only did he perhaps trash Palin, but he has reportedly said that Sarah is the reason McCain did so badly, that is the part that suggests he might not have said it??
McCain was a terrible candidate, he staggered and stumbled around debate stages, saying outrageous things and even yelling at his supporters.
Sarah was the only bright spot of the entire campaign and is more than qualified! If it had not been for Sarah, McCain would have lost bigger, much bigger
Sarah rocks out loud! I just hope she runs!
We don’t need HIM to tell us! W was not exactly a follower of the Consitution himself when he held office.
You mean like Reagan don’t you?! . . . Do your research — does the name Bill Bennett sound familiar to you?!
May God continue to bless President George W Bush!
The New York Daily News (far far far left news organization), aided by Media Matters (another far far far left organization), has accomplished its mission.
These poor people are trying so hard to stay angry at this good man......making things up, calling him names, trying so desperately to deny the obvious.........kinda makes you feel sorry for them, doesn't it, LUV?
Oh........and the "Bush gave us Obama" tripe is a completely non-factual, emotional outburst from people who are denying the reality of what was going on in 2008.
Hopefully that silly theory will fade into oblivion.
(Thanks for the article! Perfect antidote to the garbage posted about President Bush yesterday).
