You know I got caught with my hand in a cookie jar once. I figured “hey I’m already gonna get the belt for this might as well go for gusto!” By the time my mom (who just walked in) had put down the groceries and gotten me out of the jar I had stuffed my face with three more chocolate chip cookies.
Let’s try to be faster than my mom was.
The only research the government needs to get involved in is asswipe kind of research that the private investor won’t touch with a ten foot pole...
Looks like these “scientists” are worried about their federal grants. It’s always about the money. Always.
I’m not sure how to parse what you just said.
Taken as “the only research the government should sponsor is one that the private sector simply can’t as they are not profitable such as basic sciences (particle accelerators, ARPAnet, cosmology)” then yes I would tend to agree while making allowances for military purposes. NASA being gutted to make room for private companies is an example.
Taken as “the only research the government should sponsor is into ways to clean yourself AND the private sector finds unprofitable” I would have to disagree. If there is some way to clean yourself that is on the cutting edge of science but somehow can’t make money it involves powers man is not meant to use in such fashion.
Embryonic stems cells have provided zero medical breakthroughs. All the stem cell promise has been delivered from adult stem cells. There are thousands of developed applications for stem cells, but thus far they have all been adult cells. This money grabbing hoax is a fraud.
“Scientists”. Now, that doesn’t say much these days or it says too much.
I am against this on pro life principles, but this should be argued from a budget perspective. Abortionists and Hollywood actors can fund this research with their own money. Any funding needs to be cut.
The 'scientists' (I use the term loosely) who are agitating for federal funding to harvest new strains of embryonic stem cells are thoroughgoing liars. There are already dozens, if not hundreds of embryonic stem cell strains in unlimited quantities to utilize in any stem cell research imaginable - no reasonable justification exists for insisting on Federal funding to harvest yet more strains of embryonic stem cells, especially considering the ethical issues and the nonexistent justifications for doing so.
There is an additional dimension of dishonesty that this article perpetuates regarding the efficacy of embryonic stem cell treatments which is less than zero to date. IOW, there is no useful treatment that requires embryonic stem cells for its success and no reasonable probability of one being developed in the forseeable future, whether or not new embryonic strains are harvested or not. The disingenuousness of the embryonic stem cell harvesting advocates here is nothing short of sickening.
Contrast that to the millions of patients who have been successfully treated with their own stem cells for a variety of diseases. A person's own stem cells have the unique advantage of being compatible with his or her own tissues, an advantage that treatments based on embryonic stem cells can virtually never match.
More junk science being used by the Marxist whores, hustlers and killers.
If they pass it, it will be defunded as soon as the new House is seated.
Eff the corrupt bastards.
Very good.
If embryonic stem cells had all the healing potential advertised, they would not need to fund it through taxes.
Post this everywhere you can, and even on your own blog.
Also, post it whenever the conversation is about Federal spending in general. Just adapt the message. I was wondering if you could send this information to the university’s local town newspapers as an opinion piece. Keep up the good work, fight the good fight.
Abortion is the final straw with God, whether it is murdering his pre-born blessings or aborting them on the alter of a false God.
I agree
