Barak Obama: Un-Baking Bread
Vanity | 11/06/2010 | Will Malven

Posted on 11/06/2010 8:49:00 AM PDT by Sudetenland

When Barak Obama broke onto the scene to a firestorm of liberal adoration and a hyperventilating, awe-struck press, the world was rapt. They cried in heavenly bliss, “At last! At last we have the one! The black man who can lead all of America (and the world, to listen to them) to the Promised Land.”

Well, at least most of the world. Some, however, were and remain unimpressed.

We conservatives were not taken in by his lofty gaze-we knew it for arrogance, not vision.

We were not beguiled when we heard his soaring words, we knew them for empty rhetoric, rehashed, rewritten, and regurgitated from writings of earlier liberal charlatans.

We were not taken in by his stirring oration, his studied use of a Black minister’s rhythmic pauses, or his sudden lapse into street patois; we knew it for the plastic posing of a carney-barker looking for his next mark, the chameleon-like changes of a man uncertain of his own nature trying to become everything to everyone.

We conservatives saw Obama for the under-qualified, inexperienced man of slightly higher than average intelligence he was and is. We were not bedazzled by his charm or his sharp dress and scrubbed clean appearance; we saw him for what he was, just another liberal huckster trying to sell socialist snake oil to an adoring crowd.

We conservatives were not shocked, as were some liberals, to see, as Joe Biden described him, “the first mainstream African American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy;” we had listened to the impassioned appeals and elevated ideals of Dr. Martin Luther King. We had read the intellectually consistent, rational economics of Dr. Thomas Sowell and Dr. Walter E. Williams and we had heard the steady logic and constitutional scholarship of Justice Clarence Thomas.

Unlike with our liberal friends, we conservatives were not startled that there might actually be African Americans who were our intellectual equals, men like Walter Williams who, coming from a genuinely humble background, worked his way through school to rise from a shoe-shine boy to one of the most prominent economists in America.

Now, America (and to a lesser extent, the world) is awakening from its “Dreams From My Father” and discovering that they were really a “Nightmare On Elm Street.”

With a national debt approaching eighty percent of the gross domestic production, and a budget deficit that has tripled from $438 Billion in 2008 (under President Bush) to $1.4 Trillion in 2009 and an equally horrendous $1.3 Trillion in 2010, Americans see their life’s savings at risk.

They watched as unemployment rose from 7.7% in January of 2009 (the last month that President Bush was in office-and the 24th month Democrats controlled Congress) to reach a pinnacle of 10.10% in October and settled into a plateau of the upper 9% range ever since.

They are reading the stories now that should have been published before Senator Obama was elected to President Obama, that he is a man who is out of his depths. They can now read in Time Magazine that, as Mark Halperin put it:

“With the exception of core Obama Administration loyalists, most politically engaged elites have reached the same conclusions: the White House is in over its head, isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless about how to get along with or persuade members of Congress, the media, the business community or working-class voters”
Really Mark? Ya think? Do tell.

How nice, but unimportant, it is to have one’s two year-old assertions be confirmed by some Johnny-Come-Lately’s in the mainstream media (lame-stream is an apt name).

For nearly four years, the American people were subjected to a constant bombardment of adoration and dishonest filtering of the reality that was Barack Hussein Obama. Naysayers and skeptics were blasted as “racist” and “haters.”

Perceptive members of the newly awakened electorate who, catching their first glimpse of the “man behind the curtain,” saw Obama and his liberal Democrat agenda for the destructive influence it was. They called themselves “tea-party patriots” in honor of the original patriots who in 1773 struck the first blow against the tyranny of King George by dumping a ship-load of tea into Boston Harbor, and were dismissed as ignorant rubes, racists, and “fat, white, Republican, men” (funny how many of those people were Democrat and independent women-many of them leading the charge).
“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

-- P.T Barnum
Fortunately, though the American electorate can occasionally be bedazzled by some charlatan huckster, they will, if given the opportunity and the time, come to their senses and see the false-messiah/politician for the poser he actually is.

For America, this “come to Jesus” moment was the national election held on November 2, 2010. In what can only be called a “tidal wave” election, Republicans, greatly aided by the efforts of the “Baker Street Irregulars” in the various, unaffiliated, “tea-party” organizations, seized control of the U.S. House of Representatives by winning a near record 65 seat gain. Only the elections of 1938 saw a greater shift in power.

Even greater gains were made in the various state legislatures and governorships with the Republican Party now holding 32 state houses and 30 state legislatures.

The election was a resounding rejection of President Obama’s presidency and his (and the Democrat Party’s) liberal agenda. While the rest of America was desperately seeking prosperity and employment, Obama and his fellow Democrats were pushing through an aggressive liberal menu of government run health care, bailouts for their elite banking buddies, and a huge, pork-laden, stimulus bill which did much to bolster union pension coffers, but little to ease unemployment.

Now we are being told by this arrogant poser that the reason voters switched from supporting him and his fellow Democrats to supporting Republicans is that he failed to communicate his agenda well enough.

Soul-searching for Obama means attempting to understand how it is possible that the American people couldn’t see his splendor and magnificence. To him, the American people just didn’t understand how wonderful his policies and actions have been. It’s not that we rejected his ideals (after all, how can anyone reject the glory and munificence of an all intrusive paternalistic national government), it’s that we just didn’t understand what he was doing.

For Obama his only failure was in not telling us how wonderful he was and how great his political agenda would be for America . . . this after (according to CBS News) 634 public appearances in 2009 including 411 addresses (52 on health care proposals alone), 42 press conferences, 158 interviews, and 23 “Town Hall” meetings. Though his schedule has been less ambitious over the past 10 months, the President has been far from shy about “explaining” his agenda.

Clearly, for any with eyes to see and ears to hear, Obama’s assertion of a lack of communication is ludicrous. His words are the pathetic rationalizations of a man who cannot bring himself to believe that the American people have penetrated his disguise and now see him for the fallible, unprepared, inexperienced, moderately talented, political hack that we conservatives have been telling them he is and that in his heart of hearts he knows himself to be.

Once the con is exposed, not even the best of con-men can hook the mark again, unless the mark is willfully beguiled. The old adage holds true, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Obama’s bread is baked. The American people, though slow to awaken, are now fully aware of the stark reality that Obama the messiah is actually Obama the shyster.

The President is trying to un-bake his bread by telling us that what we perceive as a failure of policy is really a failure of communication and if we could just understand how wonderful his agenda is, we would all shout “Hallelujah!” and join in his noble cause.

In other words, you people are just too dumb to see how great President Obama truly is.

Well, Obama has two years to un-bake that loaf of Sour-dough and remake it into a sweet roll. It remains to be seen if the American electorate can be lulled back to sleep with the bread and circuses Obama is trying to give them, but with a strong Republican controlled House and a “not going anywhere soon” tea-party movement continuing to press for rational conservative fiscal policies, it is doubtful he can succeed.

On this basis I'll estimate the teleprompter has an IQ of about 120.
I have no idea what the President's IQ is."

Heh, Good one!

But that given that extemporaneous speeking consists of mostly:

"I er... uhhh. Me. uhh uhhh Bush Bad. The uhh, previous administration did it...I I Me Me Did good.
Republicans BAD: say no to me. uhh, Uh, err. Vacation time now, Me go. BAD Bush. BAD Republicans. Uhh, er, bdee, bdah, That's all folks."

I'd estimate somewhere around 35.

Obama’s failure of communication is his non-acceptance and non-processing of others’ ideas — Obama is totally unreceptive to other people...i.e., to those who disagree with him, and whom he therefore considers enemies.
