That's how I see it too. I was working in the hood this summer and heard a woman say that her son has 12 kids. At first I thought "wow, more power to them", but the more I thought about it, the more I think that they're not all from the same mother.
The time of hear was around tax time (January-April) and we noticed a curious thing. While we were there, it seemed like 50 or more of the town's residents were filing through to present a 'check' to him...he'd trot upstairs and come back with a few thousand dollars cash in trade...average? I'd say around $5,000.....what were they? They were EITC checks - refunded 'tax' money.......Now it is all electronic. In my state, the EBT card has a green leafy background with two Peaches on it. In the last few years, there has not been even one time, I have not seen some brood mare whip one of these out for a cart full of booty....NOT ONCE....me? I'm just relegated to giving the cashier something she's not used to dealing with - cash....
Duh! And how old was this woman? Probably not more than her mid-30’s. Seriously! This is unbelievable. There are many in the AA community - “mothers” - who are becoming grandmothers by the time they’re in their early-mid 30s. These statistics are horrifying IMHO. 72%? And 50+ amongst hispanics? I truly cannot grasp how seriously horrifying that is and what it bodes for the future for our country with stats like that. It’s scary- scary indeed!
