I love it when Limbaugh just calls the Bloviater ‘Baxter.’

IIRC, Federal public unions didn’t exist before a JFK exec order. FDR was hard against them. It would be hard for an honest court to find a restored ban on them unconstitutional with that history. Federal workers could free associate and petition government all they wanted, but the Feds wouldn’t have to negotiate work contracts with them. Alas there are dishonest courts out there.

I don't agree. The GOP has an important place - and we respect much of what they've done. That respect needs to go both ways - they need to respect the Tea Party. You need to too.

As far as dems are concerned - we'd be better off if someone replace that tired old collection of self interest groups: women who don't like men - union guys who don't like gays - gays who look down on everyone - angry blacks, dependent-freaky single parents, elitists who play all groups against each other - eternally locked in class warfare debates a hundred years old... Really, that's the party that needs to be replaced.

Any *ss who belonged to the “Main Street Republicans” ( circa ‘04 or so.. I forget)
needs to get out of the party now.
This includes Mike Castle R. DE, Mitt Romney R. MA and Charlie Bass R. NH.
I can’t remember the other creeps in this odious group but these three have been on my hit list for many moons!
There are old threads on FR regarding this Gang of Idiots Appeasers.
Being computer illiterate I am not capable of locating and posting them but they sure as heck made my blood boil!!
Still do.
/rant off

Glad you like it - I forgot ‘whiny members of the MSM who think THEY’RE the action - not the people reporting on the action...”

I’m in favor of a two-party system. The Democrats and the Tea Party.

My dream teams would be the Republicans vs the Libertarians, but the LP can't even seem to organize a Charlie Foxtrot.

Hi Pat,

I know you label me naive of a sort....

Never. I've followed your posts on the morning shows for years now. I've read your blog, following yours and hubbies health problems, and admired your wit and wisdom from afar.

I never 'looked askance' at CoD, Sean Bielat, Joe Miller or any of the Tea Party candidates. I've donated small amounts to CoD, Bielat, Milller & others including my favorite & the winner of the Georgia Gov Race, Nathan Deal.

I'm lucky enough to be retired & not job hunting.

Heh! My feelings too about the Colts and Eagles. No fan of Vick for sure. My wife and I rescue mutts with the local animal folks. You gotta admit the Colts leaving town in the middle of the night made a great commercial years ago for some bank and the convenience of 24 hour ATM banking. LOL

YER RIGHT!

Oh yeah I remember....and yer right again....THEY’RE THE ONES TO TARGET.

The Main Street Republicans....what an asshat stilly name that is. The very name implies the REST of the GOP are Right Wing extremists like Timothy McVeigh.

And please, THE GANG OF FOURTEEN!

Heh. They’re like cockroaches, never going away.

Just saw FNS.. Why the hell did they make Eric Cantor wear lipstick?
If he had on dangly earrings he could have been mistaken for some “babe”
in Western MA.
Those “babes” aspire to look like Bwaney...it’s a goal!!

Why the hell did they make Eric Cantor wear lipstick?

There are some questions Cantor couldn't answer, and some I can't answer.

LOL

By nature, libertarians are highly allergic to organizing, as it inevitably requires at least a modicum of compromise. I also personally think the hesitation about a specified governing morality, as in “endowed by their creator,” or “in God we trust,” makes structure more difficult for those nervous about fixed codes.

People might hate this idea, but Judeo-Christianity is a hierarchial presence in western culture. Morality DEMANDS discrimination — of one thing over the other. Morality is what makes people trustworthy. Allegiance to a fixed code is more often than not the best argument that “I am moral.” Not always of course (Bill Clinton claims he’s a Christian) but...

The ultimate test is that an atheist is far better off living in a Judeo Christian nation than a Christian or Jew would be in an atheist nation.

Libertarianism is admirable in many many ways but I think it is more a trajectory than a fixed locale. I like the idea that a president or congressman has read Ayn Rand but I don’t really want Ayn Rand being my president. (But Rand Paul, well, that might be a different matter.)
