Across the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire, congregants and clergy today reacted with heavy hearts to word that Bishop V. Gene Robinson is retiring.
Robinson, 63, whose consecration seven years ago as the first openly gay bishop in the Episcopal Church divided the Anglican Communion worldwide, yesterday announced at the annual convention of the New Hampshire diocese that he plans to retire in January 2013, short of the mandatory 72-year-old retirement age for Episcopal bishops. He cited death threats and the considerable strain that the worldwide rift has placed on him, his family, and the church.

He said the last few years have been hard on him and his HUSBAND, Mark.
Go away, Mr. Robinson. And may God have mercy on your soul.
What FOOLS are these “Progressive Christians”
I thought they would be gay about his retirement!
And, it really irks me when they claim death threats.
Everyone in the public eye gets death threats, and I suspect some magnify these more than others just to let us know how horrible the “haters” are.
“The stress has just been riding my ass”, said Robinson. “It is just too big to take. It’s literally torn me up inside.”

Maybe it's his doctor telling him all about how certain diseases he's picked up are going to kill him.
Black, female, and a Dem, she claimed she didn't pay her taxes because she needed the money for an alarm system because of death threats. The alleged "threat(s)" didn't happen for a year or two after she first stopped paying her taxes.
Instead of a slap on the wrist, they gave her an ankle bracelet.
She still didn't learn her lesson.
The FBI nabbed her a year or two ago with video of her stuffing Benjamins in her bra from some influence peddling or some such.
But he’s not sorry that he threw the entire Anglican Communion into turmoil and probably drove thousands of people out of the church.
Never mind. I’m sure that the Episcopal bishops will replace him with a lesbian bishop, or maybe reach out ecumenically and appoint a Muslim cleric to the job.
Make that hundreds of thousands. And if you count that most of the world’s Anglicans have now broken communion not only with the Episcopagans but the Archbishop of Canterbury for siding with the homosexual agenda, it’s millions.
Across the Episcopal Churches in the USA the few remaining congregants and clergy today reacted with heavy hearts to word that Bishop V. Gene Robinson is retiring.
Vicky might think he matters, but there are so few people in the Episcopal Denomination it would not matter if Vicky Gene Robinson was an atheist.
bump for reading later
“Bishop: “My gay lover is more important than my wife and two girls””
And more important than God.
His family — threats there?
Why doesn’t he just retire now if he’s so worried?
As a retired bishop doesn’t he still belong to the House of Bishops and go to the Lambeth conference?
"The bishop led services in Wolfeboro yesterday..."
Ya just can't make this stuff up!
Funny, I'm not sad.
Mandatory Retirement? That’s Ageist! (sarc)
Would Reinhold Niebuhr, President Sotero’s favorite theologian, say that all Episcopalians are condemned because we permit a gay clergyperson?
