US bans printer cartridges from passenger planes
BBC ^ | November 8, 2010 | BBC News

The US has banned toner and ink cartridges from passenger aircraft in the wake of last month's bomb plot.

In addition, cargo flights from Somalia and Yemen are banned, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said.

High risk cargo will receive extra screening and parcels must be screened and certified to have come via an established shipper, she said.

The strictures come after bombs hidden in cartridges were intercepted on route from Yemen to the US in cargo planes.

The printer cartridge ban affects cartridges over 16 ounces.

So now they will have 15 ounce cartridges????

Potato chip syndrome. For a while, a bag was 16 ounces. Now they are down to 13, I think. Time for printer folks to downsize to 15 ounces to hold onto the terrorist market.

Anyone with half a brain would know that we’ll never see another printer cartridge bomb.
However, the average liberal moron lacks even half a brain and that applies to Napolitano’s henchmen especially.

I’m waiting for someone to keister a bomb. A**holes will be banned from air travel and confiscated on sight at TSA checkpoints. Ninety percent of the TSA will confiscate itself, and the remainder will do their job and make our travel much more pleasant.

All inkjet cartridges are under 16oz for most printers, except huge commercial plotters. That’s just silly.

But that’s the mentality of government. People getting killed by guns, na guns. People drinking too much soda, ban soda. One guy tries to light shoes on fire, take off shoes.

It would seem to me that better detection of explosives is in order. They can make plastique which can be molded to the body so the X Ray machines can’t detect it. A simple detonator can be built in-flight from a battery and a few small wires and parts which can easily be concealed in a laptop bag.

Bunch of idiots.

My solution would be to have a bag of pork rinds out at the TSA Massage Parlor and Peep Shack and everyone would have to eat one to get on the plane.

Why don’t they just ban bombs and have done with it?

Why do we even entertain the notion of government? This is such idiocy, it’s not even funny.

Isn’t this ‘profiling’?

Only if it is black cartridges.

It’s OK. Everyone know that 15.5 oz of PETN is completely ineffective for blowing up anything.

“It is just a matter of time before airline passengers will be required to fly naked, take no luggage and submit to being bound into their seats.”

Reminds me..

Remember the guy who was caught in an airplane lavatory doing potential harm shortly before landing? The result of that was to keep every passenger in their seat 30 minutes or an hour before landing.

So stupid!

That policy would also work for entry into the White House.

I think a plate of bacon would be a viable option. Make BLT's the only meal you served on flights...maybe pork chops in 1st class...okra fried in lard...

That’s easy . . . everyone who flies will be nice and sweet: there won’t be any a**holes on the plane!!!
