Castle, like COD, would have lost in Deleware.

Exit polling showed Castle within one point (definitely margin-of-error) without even campaigning. He was a shoo-in in the general. 1% of Republicans decided the whole thing. Christine O'Donnell got 16% of the state's voters and Mike Castle got 15%. Too bad Republicans are only 3 in 10 Delaware voters.

Besides, people poured money to Miss O'Donnell, giving her more exposure. She lost votes the more voters got to know her. She got fewer votes this time around than she did in her obscure 2008 race...did you know that?

Lifelong conservatives I know refused to vote for COD

That's what I have found, too.

And Miss O'Donnell is such a laughing stock in Delaware, she's openly used as the punchline of the joke when someone does something that seems nutty, people will say, "what...are you Christine O'Donnell?" Politics aren't usually discussed in the workplace, but the feeling is that everyone knows how nutty she is, it's okay.

I fear that most Christine O'Donnell supporters

  1. haven't ever been anywhere near Delaware,
  2. never knew of her before this election,
  3. live in the sparsely populated lower counties of Delaware, not realizing how much NCC is nearly wholly against her, and/or
  4. know how dishonest she is, but figure they shouldn't admit it, since she says the right things.
I'm getting old...I remember when character counted. And I admit setting aside my own morals and ethics and helping her by campaigning against Chris Coons.

And now the rest of the story...

Castle lost support over the last few years when he mostly voted for the Democrat's big government agenda. A few years ago, he probably would have beat somebody like Coons.

And Miss O'Donnell is such a laughing stock in Delaware...

Castle couldn't beat O'Donnell. If O'Donnell is a joke then Castle is a sick joke.
