GOP lawmaker: Palin cost party control of Senate

WASHINGTON — A leading House Republican says Sarah Palin cost the GOP control of the Senate.

Questioned about those comments on Tuesday, a spokesman for Rep. Spencer Bachus of Alabama said the remarks had been taken out of context but didn't retract them.

Bachus, in line to become chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, initially blamed Palin last week at a local Chamber of Commerce luncheon. According to the Shelby County Reporter, he said the Senate would be in Republican hands if not for losses by tea party candidates endorsed by the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee.

Wow,looks like more irrelevant RINOs have discovered that bashing Palin gets your name in the news.
Lucy Van Pelt (Linus's big sis) definitively defined such egotistical stuffed shirts:

“I don't care if anybody likes me as long as I'm popular.”

Angle and O conner forced the democrats to spend lots of money and time in states they didn’t think they had to, thus freeing up other candidates of ours....

The RNC lost us the Senate. They backed McMahon instead of the conservative candidate, (Simmons?)

This guy is full of crap....Another no nothing...

So are you suggesting we work with them and their failed formula? The Tea Party groups are not interested in starting another party, how many times must this be pounded? It is entirely their intent to change them from within. It seems the Democrat Party is a lost cause at this point and will have to be virtually eliminated with its liberal handlers repudiated before it ever has a chance to gain stature within the general public.

The shift is on in a big way for conservative Democrats and the so-called Moderates in aligning themselves as Conservatives, not Republicans and it will get even more so if Clyburn is handed the Whip’s post and Pelosi continues to reign. So with that said, the writing is on the wall for the Republicans to get out of the beltway and smell the coffee because the realignment has started whether they want to beleive it or not.

This is nothing more than the Obama agenda at work! They are trying their best to divide and conquer and it looks like it might work if we believe the shit they feed us!

Nonsense. The Rinocrats chose to run against who the Party rank and file chose as candidates. Rove needs assisted living.

I don’t think we’d support a different candidate at the Senate or Congressional level very often; we see things as conservatives. What I am saying is that the Republican party, at all levels, need to wake up to the reality of the base today. Instead of Castle supported by the Republican “establishment” versus O’Donnell supported by the Tea party, in Delaware we should have had an unassailable conservative candidate supported by both. “They” just didn’t look for that candidate since they had a liberal congressman with the party label “R” and they defaulted to Castle . . . without thinking about the consequences of an inevitable primary challenge.

I would love to see the Dems pulled back towards the center through the voters as well . . . but the crazies have such a lock on that party that Pelosi and Reid will remain in leadership it looks like.

You're right Mo...it is nonsense.

For decades Republicans have had to fend off attacks from democrats and the complicit liberal media. Now they're fighting on another front with the establishment Republicans who seem hell-bent on blurring the lines between democrat and Republican, left and right and good and evil.

RINOs are on the endangered list and they know it...so they're fighting for their political lives. The good news is, we have every reason to believe they will fail.

No, she swept out a lot of RINO’s; a vastly superior benefit than actually “winning” the Senate. If Joe Miller gets in, it will be a big win in my estimate.

A meaningless act. We get along fine here in Virginia without party registration for anyone.

Used to be we didn't even have a Republican party ~ it was a one-party operation and all the top dogs were named Byrd.

Negroes were lynched on alternate Thursdays back then.

We now have a Republican party and the lynching has pretty much been stopped but occasionally a mob of Democrats must still be fired on by the police.

Just more bashing of a future president by a liberal RINO A-hole attempting to discredit a fantastic conservative.

With a&&holes like this championing his cause, Romney can count on going down BIG in flames in the 2012 primary.

Romney is a proven spoiler with absolutely no conscience.

Mitt Romney: "I'm not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""
