“I agree with the poster above that many passengers bring it on themselves. Personally, I want good screening. Our soldiers go through a lot worse.”
Our soldiers go through worse to protect the Constitution and our rights. If we are going to unleash the TSA on citizens and force the use of body scanners, we might as well bring the soldiers home because there is nothing left to fight for.
Now, if you are asking yourself what right we are losing through the TSA, they are the fourth amendment protections against unreasonable searches. The body scanners are unreasonable as the provide minimal benefit while greatly infringing reasonable expectations of privacy. To elaborate, the body scanner cannot uncover what is inserted into an orifice, implanted in the body, or going through the body. While you might say, “forcing someone to pack explosives in their anus will discourage terrorists,” you may want to read this article relating to an instance of drug smuggling before making that assertion.

Body scanners are a violation of civil liberties and another step towards the death of the Constitution.
