Book Defending Pedophilia For Sale On Amazon (And That's Not All!)

NEW YORK – Amazon is selling a self-published book defending pedophiles, sparking discussions about the retailer's obligation to vet items before they are sold in its online stores.

The book, "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover's Code of Conduct" by Philip R. Greaves II, offers advice to pedophiles afraid of becoming the center of retaliation. It is an electronic book available for Amazon.com Inc.'s Kindle e-reader.

The book has triggered mounting outrage on Twitter and beyond. A chorus of Twitter users is calling for Amazon to pull the book, with a few threatening to boycott the Kindle store until it does.

Amazon did not immediately respond to an inquiry about whether and how it vet books sold in its store.

Furthermore, had the AP probed into this author a bit further, their people might have noticed this pedophile author also publishes a couple of anti-theistic polemics and one book on his ideology:

Amazon's list of Phillip R. Greaves II books

He's a bad speller too, in "Our Gardens of Flesh: From the Seeds of Lust to the Harvast of Love" which is apparently going to be coming out as a paperback on Friday. I thought it was just a typo on the website at first, but no, "Harvast" is spelled the same way right there on the cover. I'm sure his fellow pedophiles and militant atheists are so proud to be associated with him.

Of course, as one commenter on the Amazon.com page says, maybe the book shouldn't be banned; aside from that whole First Amendment thing, finding out who's buying this kind of thing might be a good way to keep an eye on potential child molesters.

Sort of makes you nostalgic for lynch mobs, doesn’t it?

Well Americans...

It´s not a question of vetting, we should be tankful for Amazon to have been selling it!

I am really thinking in launching a JIHAD for the head of the author of this excrescence...

Don´t you think it would be useful? I mean the first rightful JIHAD in the world´s history?

Amazon lists one of the author’s titles as “A Government of Service to All”.

Hmmnn, most of us are tired of being “serviced” by government.

Civilly, this guy is toast. All it takes is one convicted pedophile to say he was inspired or otherwise needed this book to commit the act.

Not that this guy has any assets or income.

That David L. Riegel guy is a real piece of work too. I don't see why exactly we should be wanting to ban or lynch these guys, though; if they want lots of publicity for their depravity, why not give them maximum exposure?

I think the matter will depend on whether or not the book is a “how to” guide to commit the crime of pedophilia without detection or is in any way aiding or abetting the perpetration of the act. If not, disgusting as it is, it’s probably protected by the First Amendment.

Agreed! They should be hung. They will never change. Take the garbage out.

I don’t care if the book exists. I am not interested in it.

They should go for it. The first argument used by those caught in the snare will be..."Help, help! I'm bein' repressed! My First Amendment rights are bein' infringed!"

It’s as good an indicator of who law enforcement should be watching as a list of the people who attend an al qaeda funeral service.

“The Pedophile’s Guide to Love and Pleasure: a Child-lover’s Code of Conduct”

The title itself demonstrates the mental delusion of the author, by the fact that Pedophilia has nothing to do with love, it’s completely about lust, and depraved lust at that.

I didn't bother reviewing it but I did report it to customer service as having "pornographic content" and told them from now on I will take my business elsewhere, and I spent a lot of $$ on music and books on Amazon.

I had almost $50 worth of books in my cart today that I intended to add to and order tonight but I canceled them. It may be protected by the 1st amendment but it doesn't mean I need to give them my business.

That’s a pretty serious libel, donna. I’ve reported your vicious and thoroughly unwarranted ad hominem to the mods.

For obvious reasons, most sex offenders keep their heads down and try not to draw attention to themselves. If any of them want to go blowing their dirty little secrets all over the place by, say, publishing crap such as this, why not let them? It just increases the odds that they'll get caught, and gets them away from their potential victims and into prison that much sooner.

If you can't understand why I'd be opposed to keeping a criminal from outing himself and maybe several others, you must not have very much imagination. If you're really so rash as to go around jumping to crazy conclusions and attacking people so recklessly as you did here, you really ought to hold your tongue and think before you speak; at least then you might seem wise.

Maybe you should hold you tongue, because you said this:

I don't see why exactly we should be wanting to ban or lynch these guys, though; if they want lots of publicity for their depravity, why not give them maximum exposure?

Little kids have to live in this culture. They don't need more exposure to perverts.

You don't read very well, do you?

If the guys get exposed, they get arrested. They do not get to keep chasing after kids. End of story.

Your latest interpretation of my comments is completely illogical and makes no sense whatsoever, just like your previous one. You really should quit before you fall even further behind.
