Thanks. No love lost here for Crist either. I agree with your comment generally. Some are more reliable than others though. I trust folks like DeMint, Bachman, and a few others. I realize folks aren’t going to see eye to eye with us 100% of the time, but I do expect them to have the right core values that will bring them into line most of the time.

Joe should be embarrassed. He lost to a write in candidate. America has only done this one time before. He should have won this handedly. Folks here yell cheating but that is a small percentage at best. Even if he ends up losing it should not have been this close. A write in candidate????? Folks here said she would not get more than five percent. Why did FREEPERS get this wrong so badly?????

The fact is that 'Murk' ran as a 3rd Party candidate despite losing the primary.

Democrats saw that she could win and voted for her rather than have a REAL Conservative as a Senater.

That was why she was able to beat Miller.

Miller would have easily won in a two man race.

'Murk' betrayed the commitment which was implied when she ran in the primary, that she would abide by it's results.

The Federal court really doesn’t have any business in the election law of the State of Alaska.

Don’t get me wrong, the State is clearly in the wrong here in allowing election workers to “infer” intent of the voters that misspelled her name despite having a list at their disposal.

It’s still not the job of the Federal court to tell Alaska how to run their elections. The 11th amendment clearly prohibits the uses of Federal court in lawsuits against the State. Joe should take the issue to state court.

In the mean time If you ask me Lisa should not be permuted to caucus with the Republicans. What she did in disavowing the duly elected primary results is an affront to honor and fairly played games.

We let her run in the republican primary she should have accepted the results. The fact that she did not honor the results and instead let her greed for power drive her to run anyway and divide the vote makes her exactly the sort of person we do NOT want in the republican party, now least of all.

We need people of virtue willing to turn down the temptation of power and do the right thing. I don’t see how it helps us to have Lisa further tant our brand.

We would be better off if she caucused with those who are most like her, the Democrats or alone.

“What about the absentee and military ballots?”

Lou, I don’t hear you talking about them - there are 31,000 absentee ballots - and many military ballots (are those a separate count - I think due in by Nov. 17th - which hasn’t even arrived.)

Yet, you’re talking about Joe Miller’s “antics?” Come on, give the process a chance.

“Without the rule of law this nation is toast. And people who don’t grasp that by now are beyond help.”

Agreed. It’s all about consistent application of election law - at least at the state level. As you say - ‘rule of law.’ More generally, this also accrues to the disrespect for the US Constitution.

“I share that concern. Murkowski seems strongly anti-EPA, so that would seem to make it really bizarre for her to join the Dems. But how about the teachers’ unions posing with her when she announced her write-in campaign?”

Murk is about Murk and she’ll do whatever benefits herself. Period. She’ll be the 3rd Maine sister.

“So he just needs 13501 absentee votes (20%) to win? How will that not happen? Or are they assuming a big write-in on the absentees?”

I think he needs 11,400 votes more than murk at the moment (don't have the link handy.) and 11,400 of 31,000 is more than 20% - more like 35% - and he needs that many if murk gets none - and she will get some - so it needs to be 11,400 MORE than murk in both the absentee and military ballots.

I think it's a long shot for Miller (as of right now), but not over as about 5 people on this board have opined - calling Miller's defense ‘antics’ which I totally disagree with.

He's not being a RAT here - he's fighting the RATS (essentially) who LONG for the Tea Party to be ratcheted back another notch.

“Well, the good news is that the are setting the questionable ballots apart and the results will not be certified.”

Plus the military ballots’ deadline is Nov. 17 - next Wed. Anyone know how many of those there are? Speaking of military ballots - how many military ballots were left out in the IL governor’s race?? That to me is just heinous.

“One is ballots that everybody believes are good for Murkowski. According to the report, 89% of the ballots so far fall into this category. And if you do the math, if that continues, Miller will lose even if a court accepts all of his challenges.”

What about absentee and military ballots? Recall, Miller won the primary by just a few thousand votes...this could still be a squeaker, as we’re not talking about a massive deficit for Miller in overall votes (he is down by an outright 4.7% to ‘write-in candidates’ at the moment.

I’d also like to wait to ‘do the math’ until the military ballots deadline - next Wed. 11/17.

“Thank God that someone is trying to stand up for what is right. And Joe Miller is not out there claiming to have found ballot boxes. That is a dem trick.”

Keep in mind that if Dino Rossi and the Republicans in my state and nationally had had any stones, we would have fought those recounts til it was found that about 400 votes in KingCo were illegally cast by felons and others (with the assist of ACORN that was indicted, perhaps convicted in this state of illegal voter registrations.)

Now the FACT that Dino's rightful election for Governor of WA state and the clown's ‘election’ were outright thefts, should be all the fuel we need right here, right now to support Joe Miller until he's pronounced absolutely dead in this still too close to call race.

Or perhaps we should just play nice again?

“The real story here is the sheer magnitude of the write-in vote”

Sorry, the real story, at the moment, is that this election is not yet over. Goodness, can the military get their vote, not due til 11/17, before you pronounce Miller’s last rights, his ‘murky’ qualifications, and get your digs in on the Tea Parties?

Thanks.

“I think they counted the absentees yesterday...Joe picked up about 2000 votes.....overall, his chances are slim...

but I hope for the sake of rule of law, Miller follows thru on his lawsuit....if you don’t challenge chicanery, it’ll flourish....”

I heard they counted some absentees and he made those gains. I agree with the other parts of your post.

Yes. Although I posted that she voted against the porkulus and obamacare, to put that in perspective, so did McCain.

I can't find anything in Murkowski's voting record worse than other pork loving RINOs.

“I can’t find anything in Murkowski’s voting record worse than other pork loving RINOs.”

Granted. But as we all know, it’s those pork loving RINOs that are a huge part of the problem. They were a big part of the reason for the Republicans’ failures under Bush. I agree with you, or someone earlier on this topic, she may have voted against those bills, but she will not be a smaller government voter/advocate. More likely status quo with continued continental DRIFT for the Murk and McLame.

We’ve seen utter disrespect for the law shown from huge Constitutional issues (government takeover of the banks, car companies, and healthcare) to the tiny minutiae (Fukino not telling us that the BC they have on record for Obama is not legally valid), and everything in between (feds suing AZ so they can’t enforce immigration law, DOJ not prosecuting clear cases against Blacks, not prosecuting election fraud, unlawful firing of IG’s who do their job, unconstitutional czars regulating everything under the sun, IRS and FCC threats to individuals and companies who might demand their rights, etc).

Gangrene is never a fringe issue. Wherever it is it will collect and that means death. Whether it’s the system spreading the disease all over the body or the disease starting remotely and spreading to the system - wherever it is found you can be sure it will spread. And right now it is everywhere. We can’t just take out a little of it; we need to recognize it all for the deadly disease it is and get rid of it all. There is no lawlessness that merits a “tee hee” in response.

Those who don’t yet “get it” need to “get it” fast.

Here on Veteran’s Day we’re giving the government a day off to “honor” our veterans.

I think it would be much more honoring if we actually treated them like the human beings they are rather than the scummy way that the dem scum are treating them. Like maybe we could give them the same right to vote as the scum give the dead. Seems like to the dem scum the crime that keeps our soldiers from being able to vote is the fact that they aren’t dead yet. “The only good vet that’s good enough to vote is a dead vet”, or something.

Absolutely disgusting.

We break clear-cut laws so we don’t “disenfranchise” the people who can’t even copy a name from a piece of paper, who were told by their bosses that they had to go vote.... but we can send ballots to our soldiers fighting abroad on behalf of this country only when it’s too late for their vote to be counted.

It’s like the bus waits around for the slackers but when it sees a soldier running to catch the bus it deliberately zooms off without him throwing black smoke in his face and dust in his teeth instead. Again, absolutely disgusting.

Maybe not quite that bad. Snowe and Collins (and Specter) voted for the porkulus.
