Author Of Pedophile Book Says He Has Sold One Copy Of Creepy Title

In an interview today, the author at the center of a controversy about Amazon’s sale of a self-published pedophile’s guide told TSG that he has sold exactly one copy of the book and revealed that he was involuntarily hospitalized following a “mental breakdown.”

Noting that, “I have what they call manic depression,” Phillip Greaves, 47, said that he himself was not a pedophile and that “the best advice I can give a pedophile is accept that masturbation is your best friend.” Greaves’s book, “The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover's Code of Conduct,” last week became available for download in the e-Book format. It costs $4.79.

Greaves, who has also recently self-published several other titles available on Amazon, said that he was unaware of criticism of the pedophile book beyond some negative comments posted to the Amazon sale page. He said those critiques were based only on the book’s title since, “I’ve sold one copy so far.”

It'd be interesting to know who bought that copy...

Incidentally, as mentioned in the article, the guy has written several other titles:

Amazon's list of Phillip R. Greaves II books

These didn't get any mention in the AP's article earlier. I thought the list well worth linking, though, as they also reveal the guy to be an outspoken atheist and poor speller. Of course, you kind of have to figure he's not too bright if he's going to go using his real name on his books like that.

The man is so far gone. I hope the copy that sold is going to help a DA build a case by identifying the man’s MO and then devising open ended questions to help police interview victims to PUT THIS MAN AWAY. Did you see his quotes in the CNN article? He says true pedophiles really love children and could never hurt them. Uh....RIGHT. Oh and he says ‘kissing and fondling’ A CHILD should not be too much of a problem!!!!

Against common sense, I am really hoping this guy has merely penned a very tasteless farce. Which he has the right to do, but he should expect the reaction he got.

Another mentally ill person who’s found a purpose in life, helping the media attract eyeballs.

We’ve obviously gone way beyond the “500 channels” one used to hear about. The time is fast approaching when every crazy person in the world will have his own channel, robot camera crew, and virtual publicist, and that will be “the media.”

This makes me want to throw up. I have a Kindle and if Amazon is going to slip this kind of stuff into what they offer, I will not purchase another thing..I will get a different reader.

I just heard this morning that Amazon is backing down on their position to carry this book.

It looks like they just caved to the outrage, (or after selling only one copy, did the math and said "screw it, it's not worth the headaches.)

OT, with apologies, but a warning is merited: Whatever you do, do NOT click on the TSG ‘Most Popular’ story titled “Woman Utters Line Never Previously Recorded In A Police Report.”

You have been warned.

Maybe so, but we only care in this legal system about people who have actually molested children, not people who only have dirty fantasies about it. To do the latter would be to create thoughtcrime.

How long before the ACLU steps up to defend Greaves and something they claim is a type of “robust freedom of speech”?

After all, the ACLU did defend NAMBLA for EIGHT YEARS in a lawsuit brought against the child molesting organization in the murder of 10 year old Jeffrey Curley.
