The UK has the fifth highest cancer death rate for women among the 27 European Union countries but spending on health is lower in Britain than other leading economies. Only Poland, Ireland, the Czech Republic and Hungary had worse records for deaths from cancer among women.[Snip] The ONS report said: Breast cancer is the most common form of female cancer in England and Wales. It is also the second most common cause of cancer deaths in women, after lung cancer. Death rates from breast cancer fell in the UK and the rest of Europe between 2000 and 2007.

But they won’t get a bill./sarc
Obama’s dirtbag thug he put in charge of Medicare/Medicaid is a devout admirer of the UK’s drug rationing of cancer meds.
How can this be with government health care? In the mean
time in evil capitalist America you can hardly avoid buying
something with a pink label or cap with proceeds going to
combat breast cancer.
Having lost a sister at age 54, from ling cancer who never smoked; I think this disease is becoming a larger bogeyman than breast cancer.
Plus it's not like there's any early detection option, as there often is with smoker lung cancer. The original site was the size of a pencil eraser.
I wonder if these breast cancers tie in with their abortion rate?
Something to know about this study:
Often, cancer deaths are reported in the area in which the cancer started. So, a lot of these deaths may have started as breast cancer, and then metasticized (oh, hell, I have chemo brain and can’t spell cancer-related word for a damn!) to other areas of the body. Breast cancer is the “gateway” cancer.
So, a woman (or man) can get breast cancer, be treated and be considered cancer free...only to have the cancer pop up elsewhere...like the lungs. But when her death is reported, chances are good it will be as a breast cancer death.
(right now I hate being a girl, and I want to see the whole study!)
Hate to tell you, but I and millions of other breast cancer folks never had abortions. And don’t try to tie it to birth control pills, either. Just from personal experience, that wasn’t a factor either.
My wife died from metastatic breast cancer in ‘08. She was of English descent on both sides. I seem to have seen some similar report earlier. I have to wonder if there’s a genetic link at work. Several relatives including her mother also died from this.
i vote for a connection between cancer and booze / smoking / misaligned teeth
My sympathies to you. And thanks for supplying the word my brain couldn’t find...metastatic.
I have seen some interesting information from studies looking at the relationship between abortions and breast cancer. The cellular biology during pregnancy may present a key to understanding the etiology of breast cancer.
Cancers have many factors that trigger their development in the body. Why some people are more susceptible to these triggers is what will lead to a cure.
A couple of years ago, as I was waiting to be taken into the operating room for gall bladder surgery, a doctor asked if I had any allergies. I have a ton of allergies, drug, food, inhalants etc. and after I ran down the list for him he said “hummm, you probably will never have cancer”.
