Planned Parenthood Got $349.6 Million in Tax Dollars, Performed 324,008 Abortions....
CNS News ^ | November 11, 2010 | Penny Starr

Posted on 11/11/2010 1:18:05 PM PST by Mr. Mojo

Planned Parenthood received $349.6 million in tax dollars in its fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008 and paid its president, Cecile Richards, $385,163, plus another $11,876 in benefits and deferred compensation.

Also, according to a “fact sheet [2]” published by the organization, Planned Parenthood Affiliate Health Centers performed 324,008 abortions in 2008.

Planned Parenthood’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008 is the latest year for which the organization has publicly released an annual report [3] and published the annual sum of grants and contracts it received from the government.

The $385,163 in pay Planned Parenthood President Richards received in the organization’s fiscal year ending June 30, 2008 was recorded in the organization’s publicly available Internal Revenue Service Form 990 filed for that year.

Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups in the organization’s fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2009, according to the organization’s Form 990 for that year.

Planned Parenthood did not respond to repeated inquiries from CNSNews.com about Cecile Richards’ compensation.

Is anyone reading the research that shows a high, high correlation between abortions and breast cancer?

Like a 193% increase in the risk of developing breast cancer!

Why would any organization want to encourage abortion with that kind of risk for the woman?

Richards also received $346,285 in total compensation from Planned Parenthood and $38,476 in total compensation from related groups

Let's see now:

$385,163 + $11,876 + $346,285 + $38,476 = $781,800

So, his take on each baby was $2.42 per baby.

I was just curious.

There’s a book, Unplanned, coming out in January from a woman, Abby Johnson, who used to work at Planned Parenthood. She left while participating in her first actual abortion procedure and walked across the road to join the Coalition for Life.

Planned Parenthood sued her and it garnered national attention.

Abby details in the book how Planned Parenthood compels people who visit to have abortions because its helps the bottom line more than those who choose not to have abortions. People who work there are pushed to get people to have abortions.

I’ve read the studies attempting to link abortion to breast cancer and they are inherently flawed. I don’t believe there’s a link. Abortion is unsafe in other ways, however, and it is obviously immoral and contrary to the will of God. The case against abortion is strong enough to stand on its own without bringing in this outside issue that is by no means even close to conclusive.

The name of the organization is pure propaganda. There is nothing in their work that prepares young men and women to responsibly plan or prepare for becoming loving parents i.e. marriage and financial security.

These monsters should be referred to as Parasites for Profit through Perversion, Promiscuity and Infanticide.

If the left is so committed to “the right to choose” they can fund it directly.

You have summarized the essence of the fraud. It has never been about "choice!"

It has ever been about who pays for promiscuity; the perps or the taxpayer.

That summarizes the decades of hysterical shouting by the perverts. The premise, that the "landmark US Supreme Court case establishing that most laws against abortion violate constitutional right to privacy, ..." was so absurd and self serving that it boggles the brain.

Even "Jane Roe" (Norma McCorvey,) on whose behalf the suit was originally filed, grew up and opposes Roe vs Wade.

No matter; it was all about the money, not "rights," certainly not the taxpayers'!

I don’t think I understand your post.

I didn't have any problem understanding it.

I just don't agree that if the prospective parent(s) are likely to be criminally incompetent (or insane,) that the taxpayer should bear the financial burden of supporting the likely new criminals and the criminal parents for life; often for generations.

If spaying the irreponsible were a workable alternative, that makes much more sense, and many of us might opt for that solution. Another solution that treats the taxpayer as mercifully as it does the perps is national orphanages privately run by religious institutions. Imposed charity ceases to be charity; as demonstrated by the current national financial condition; it more closely resembles, or is, taxpayer slavery.

I utterly fail to find any response or suggestion on this thread to justify that question. Your wife didn't abort; Shows maturity, character and a sense of responsibility. You chose to see it as applying to her, not the writer.

It is unfortunate that many biological experiences need to be defined by some as victimhood. The temptation to use victimhood as a means to get attention is (fill in a reason.)

You’re probably right about the studies being flawed, but you can’t deny that breast cancer rates have gone up considerably since Roe v Wade. It could definitely be coincidental, but other than the pill, what is so different for women over the past 50 years that could explain the rates going up?

Not being a female, and having to deal with a pregnancy, I cannot agree with blanket condemnation of every female who has had an abortion.

The REAL ISSUE here is that the GOVERNMENT is involved in supporting and deciding who can and who can't have an abortion, and we have to pay for it all.

The government was supposed to remove all the illegal abortion clinics run by organized crime. Instead, they fund them, and helped them expand.

I'd have hoped that people would see my condemnation as scum only applies to the female that casually aborts for 'convenience'. These people usually do it more than once. I know a girl that's done it three times.

I'm sure that there are probably some small number of women that have had an abortion for other than convenience reasons, and I'm sure some of them are enduring their own special Hells for it. They really weren't the targets of my comment.

[Cecile is daughter of Ann Richardson former governor of TX]

Former Texas Governor Ann Richards Dies

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/09/14/AR2006091400591_2.html

excerpt..........

At Waco High, she met classmate David Richards, and at age 19, the high school sweethearts married and enrolled at Baylor University in Waco, where she received her undergraduate degree in 1954. They lived in Austin while Dave Richards attended law school at the University of Texas, and Ann Richards earned a teaching certificate and taught government at a junior high school.

After a year in Washington, where Dave Richards worked for the U.S. Civil Rights Commission, the couple moved to Dallas. Ms. Richards became a homemaker, although she stayed politically involved by volunteering on the gubernatorial campaigns of Henry B. Gonzalez and Ralph Yarborough, as well as Yarborough’s senatorial campaigns.

The Richards family, by now with four children, moved to Austin in 1969, where Ms. Richards continued to work for candidates, including the Texas House campaign of Sarah Weddington, a 25-year-old lawyer who had successfully argued the Roe v. Wade abortion rights case before the U.S. Supreme Court. Ms. Richards described Weddington as the first “out-and-out feminist activist” she had ever met, and in 1974 she became Weddington’s administrative assistant in the House.

She ran for office herself for the first time when she successfully challenged an incumbent Travis County commissioner in 1976. She was re-elected in 1980.

Smart and sassy, with a homespun charm that often disarmed her political foes, she was making a name for herself across Texas, but her personal life was in shambles. Her political involvement put a strain on her marriage, which ended in divorce, and she began drinking heavily. Her friends eventually forced her into rehabilitation, and she credited their intervention with saving her life and her political career.

In 1982, in a Democratic sweep of top offices, she was elected state treasurer. Receiving the most votes of any statewide candidate, she became the first woman elected to statewide office in Texas in 50 years. Columnist Molly Ivins, attributed her old friend’s success to her “hard hair.” She looked like a Republican, in other words. She was reelected in 1986.

...

Survivors include four children, Cecile Richards of New York City, Daniel Richards, Clark Richards and Ellen Richards all of Austin; and eight grandchildren.

Washington Post Staff Writer Joe Holley served as Ann Richard’s deputy press secretary while she was governor.

What is so different? For one, the increased availability and utilization of mammograms for everyone. The increased use of estrogen (like in birth control) has probably also contributed to the rise. Lots of women also use hormone replacement therapy and get additional hormone this way. A study a few years back satisfied most that there was a direct correlation between the two.
