(Nov. 11) -- Authorities in Oklahoma have arrested a teenager in the brutal slaying of child, who was stabbed 36 times. The killing was committed during a home-invasion robbery, police said.

"In my entire career, I've never seen anything like this," Muskogee police Cpl. Pedro Zardeneta told Kansas City's KMBC. "It's sad."

Officials with the Muskogee Police Department did not return calls for comment from AOL News today. According to online reports, Aaron Laconsello, 18, was arrested Tuesday after police were called to a home in the 700 block of North N Street to investigate a home invasion and assault.

The whole story or at least what was in the article is strange. Why would one go after the 4 yr old and not the adult and it said the mom was assaulted but not seriously injured. I know she said she did not know him but sounds like maybe she did or drug related-just weird . Such a shame it makes me very sad. Seems like you can't go a day without reading these shocking and sick stories disgusting.

Here’s what will actually happen:

pre-trial manuvering: 1 year
the trial itself: maybe 2 months
wait on death row during standard appeals: 10 years
more appeals from fringe legal groups: 1 year

So the murderer gets executed maybe 12 years after the crime. Same thing will happen in the Fort Hood case. That’s an insult to the victim, the jury, and the country.

And it becomes next to useless as a deterent.
