First California. Now they're shooting at Queens! Two days after a mysterious vapor trail appeared at sundown off the Los Angeles coast -- triggering fears of an enemy missile attack -- a stunning replay occurred in the sky over Far Rockaway. A passer-by snapped a photo of a billowing streak yesterday afternoon at around 5 p.m. Like Monday's scare on the West Coast, it looked like the exhaust from a just-launched missile. What caused the contrail visible from the Rockaways also is not known. "It looked like a rocket," said the photographer, who added that the plume appeared to the west of the Rockaways, possibly over Brooklyn or New Jersey. SCARE PLANE? A missile-like streak appears in the sky yesterday to the west of the Rockaways, much like the still-unexplained mystery Monday off California. The local resident said it didn't resemble the usual contrails left by planes from nearby Kennedy Airport. The Pentagon closed the case on Monday's incident off the California coast by announcing yesterday that it was just an optical illusion that made a plane look like a missile. The distorted angle of videotape of it taken by a TV news helicopter led to the confusion, military officials said in Washington. All other explanations have been ruled out after a 36-hour investigation, they said. "There is no evidence to suggest that this is anything else other than a condensation trail from an aircraft," said Pentagon spokesman Col. David Lapan. Although conspiracy theories and UFO claims flooded the blogosphere, several scientists said there was little doubt the trail, which appeared near Santa Catalina Island, was caused by a plane. They said the video indicated the object changed direction and flew at a constant speed, which a rocket-launched missile wouldn't do.

I think the sheeple need to calm down.
Best not to rattle the 'sheeple' as one poster put it, or more accurately alarm the awakened masses.
I think these new “missile” stories are designed to do just that.
It’s now officially a dead story; we’re all TRUTHERS and BIRTHERS now.
To me that looks like a plane.
This entire week the sunsets have been stunning in the New York Area. I see them going home on the F Train. Even last night there was a glow in the sky to the west that was white in the orange background.
I’m not an expert and i don’t know how long lava ash travels but i suspect that the sunsets views are caused by the volcano’s that erupted.
I have seen many rockets go up....the one on the coast was a missile/rocket and so is this picture
This one is obviously an airliner and helps to illustrate the illusion.
The Sun is just setting and the contrails are illuminated from below - at mid day that would have to be something - like a rocket - climbing into the sky.
I see these all the time here in Westbury, NY.But when looking live there’s never any doubt that the plane is moving toward you, as most of these are trans Atlantic flights. The vid from LA showed the target moving away from the camera. I find it curious that the chopper crew in LA thought that target different enough to video when they must see hundreds of airliner contrails each week arriving from the Pacific, just as any Long Islander or Cape Codder sees hundreds of trans Atlantic contrails. The other difference in the LA vid is the contrail itself. It blooms almost immediately while the jet contrails I see here on L.I. hold together longer before blooming. But see how the contrail of a solid fuel rocket engine blooms immediately.
The aliens are preparing to attack. The leaders of the major powers of this world are softened up by socialism enough they believe they can walk in and take over without much resistance. (Yeah, I’m being facetious.)

Video contains much more info than a single frame (photo). This photo looks quite like a plane contrail. The west coast video, not so much.

It is just an optical illusion that we have a true Patriot in charge of Homeland Security.
It is just an optical illusion that we have a President who care a whit about the USA.
There isn’t a single person that I have talked to who has lived or lives in So Calif who thinks that plume on Monday was an airplane. They all think it was a missile.
The entife administration lives on lies—24/7/365.
We aren’t buying it anymore.
Its a weather balloon.
Yet only two in that city of ten million noticed the "missile" when it was launched 30 miles away.
