What a joke. How about if when a senior turns 75 they can finally stop paying school taxes. Property taxes are a huge strain on many seniors. Let the school teachers help pay for their benefits to fund this discount. In my state school teachers pay nothing for their health care, not for themselves or their families. Even if the spouse works and could get benefits from their work place they don’t because they can get it for free from their teacher spouse. And by 75 hasn’t a senior paid enough for public school teachers.

Property taxes are NOT a federal issue. States and counties levy them. Some states even have homestead exemptions for seniors over 65.
