We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and FREEDOM of ASSOCIATION, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is NOT a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our GOD-GIVEN rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of Life.

Well you’d think it would be obvious. A conservative web-site that bills itself as such, the prevailing political opinions are going to be conservative. Ok so far but then you get the “D’ rats/libs/Lefties ‘n’ God knows- what- else lands here and they start acting like a bunch of vegetarians who walked into a steakhouse and found out to their horror there’s meat on menu!

While this is no doubt a fundamental truth, finding ways to explain this truth to liberals as to get them to peacefully respect our rights rather then force us to take more drastic and i dare say much more costly action is something that requires our skill in debate.
The same could be said of independents.
Like it or not we live in a world crafted largely by government to have many people if not the majority of people be its blind serfs.
They will listen to reasoning and the natural inclinations of their heart but only if we learn to speak to that reasoning and inclination as to “light the flame of liberty” within them.
This is not something we can do by force of arms, not with so many drones against us, nor is it something that we should desire to do by force of arms when the natural truths of our position can be used to liberate many if not most of our countrymen.
WE NEED TO GROW OUR NUMBERS!
So the question is what is the function of Freerepublic.com?
Is it to speak to the choir, or is it to help devise ways to liberate and restore our once Free Republic?
I think we can agree that we are in a great need of arms to wage this war for our rights. Arms of words and ideas, not just the guns and bombs of the wars of force.
Indeed when we win this fight with ideas we will have all Guns and Bombs of war we will need if necessary to secure our rights with force from those tyrants that still stubbornly refuses to leave us alone.
But until then remember that the pen(The keyboard) is mightier then the sword... Let us conservatives learn among our brothers how to uses that pen to wage this war in the only way we can, thou practice and challenge.
Let us defend our rights with reason.

The other day we had a college professor, one Gilbert Wilkes the IV from Alberta Canada, try to use Delphi techniques to troll FR.
His handle was a tipoff, “casuist”, and he took to a formulaic posting style:
“I’m no [insert profession here], BUT [insert sort irrelevant crap here], I’m not passing judgement, I’m just saying.” -being an example of one of his posts.
FR is a website for conservatives and conservative ideals.

If you’re here to troll or try to insert liberal ideas, we have several people onsite who are very good at dealing with trolls and trolling personalities.

The 1930’s and 1940’s witness a time in which liberals not conservative controlled the vast majority of the government and media. It was our voice not theirs which was most often suppressed, and never allowed to be debated.
We slowly started to defeat them over the ensuring decades as both their systems began to fail and we slowly started to articulated and more widely speak the truth about their evil nature.
We can beat them on any battlefield in which we are both allowed experienced to fight. Conservative most of whom do not innately know all the weaknesses of the leftist big government position nor are capable of enumerating the numerous evils their socialized central planing creates for a civilization, must learn and discover theses thing, just as they must learn and discover all things.
If FreeRepublic does not wish to be a forum in which we can learn to confront our enemy’s we will have to learn such lessons on other forms and spread what we learn here.

I crafted my opinion in hopes of adding to reasoned judgment not replacing it. I have no grievance with the way you manage your web-sight, nor do i have right to any.
It is your web-sight not mine.
to your judgment, not but in the end the choice is your, and I will go with you either way.
I am your friend and ally in this cause, not your enemy. The most of the ideals you hold in limited government burn as brightly(maybe more so) within my heart as they do in yours.
