WASHINGTON -- Indiana Rep. Mike Pence, a potential GOP contender for the White House in 2012, says he'll make a decision after Jan. 1 about whether to enter the race.

Pence, who's stepping down as the No. 3 House Republican leader, says he's "humbled" by encouragement that he consider running.

He tells ABC's "This Week" that he'll seek guidance from God as he decides his political future.

So, who do you believe conservatives should vote for?

He was an idiot for proposing that “compromise”.

Actually, his plan was a mirror-image of Tancredo's. I know because I remember doing side-by-side comparisons of both plans during those Rep. Cannon threads. But I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of FReepers who dissed him in 2006 but now think he's the conservative Holy Grail.

But unless DeMint or Hunter runs, he’ll still have the best record on immigration. Beats Palin’s amnesty, anyway.

He could have done all of us a favor and knocked off Lugar in 2006 for the Senate. No Congressman is going to get elected POTUS Pissant.

Or 1/2 term governors.

Or 14-term pork-barrel Congresscritters (Cough Hunter cough)

Pence’s weakness is on immigration. NumbersUSA has a grade card for him of only 71%.

But FReepers need their Holy Grail to stop Sarah though. They'll support anyone whom they perceive as more conservative than her.

You should be writing letters thanking Hunter for his “pork barrel” spending. Missile Defense, what there is of a real border fence, brand spanking new detention facilities for illegals, our submarine fleet, up-armored Hummers and Strykers. What you won’t find is the Duncan Hunter Highway, the Duncan Hunter Municipal Library, the Duncan Hunter center for the performing Arts, etc.

You should also thank him for trying to get rid of the Dept of Energy, OSHA, the EPA, the NEA/NEH, virtually all welfare, deporting all illegals, and privatizing SS.

"Romney & Pence are both primarily dedicated to furthering their quests for the presidency."

Very few GOP political figures have stuck out their neck in support for conservative principles as Mike Pence has. When he led the Republican Study Committee, he was the primary opposition to much of the GOP lurch toward big government under Bush. He constantly took on the GOP leadership over spending and the embrace of "big government conservatism". He got taken to the woodshed on several occasions for his troubles. How on earth is that furthering his quest for the Presidency? Pence was opposing big government before there even was a Tea Party and was doing so when most of the GOP was heading in the opposite direction. I am bewildered at this spin.

That’s not true. It’s a mistake, however, to be single minded about possibilities.

What if Palin decides not to run? How prepared is the constituency? Worse yet, what if Palin decides to run only because of the dependency on her candidacy - one she may not necessarily desire?

I respect Palin and trust her decision will be based in sincerity and her love for the Country. There’s no guarantee she will run.
