Carlos Cascos stood his ground Sunday, disputing reports from Democratic Party officials that a review of the recount of Nov. 2 election returns showed him losing to John Wood by five votes for county judge instead of winning by 50 votes as the Cameron County Elections Department had reported Saturday night.
I look forward to continuing my work for the people of Cameron County as their county judge, Cascos, the Republican incumbent, wrote in a press release issued at noon Sunday.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, word began to spread that a review of tally sheets at the recount a recount requested by Wood had turned in Woods favor by five votes from the results that Cameron County Elections Administrator Roger Ortiz had announced at about 8 p.m. Saturday. At that time, Ortiz declared Cascos the winner by 50 votes.

According to [County Democrat Chairman] Hinojosa, a review of tally sheets showed that [the person responsible for the recount] Ortiz had missed one tally sheet when adding them up after the recount.

That serves the Pubby candidate right for failing to attach his own tally sheet ... after the Rats burned the original ballots.
Incidentally, for the benefit of non-Texas Freepers, the County Judge basically runs the county much like a city manager runs a town. As such, they swing lots of money and jobs.
So why is the R giving up> 5 votes?

The only thing that counts is the win, therefore, count til you win.............
Pretty much you should expect the GOP to lose every race that isn’t within the MoF.
RATS alway, always, steal the close ones.
Another “Landslide Lyndon”.
South Texas is as crooked as Mexico because half the population is Mexican and shouldn’t even be voting over here.
The Rats NEVER lose close elections, NEVER!!!
I think I’ll start a website called “Mathematically Impossible.com” The law of averages dictates that equal numbers of R’s and D’s should gain votes in any contested election. It is MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for one side to gain votes in every single contested election, unless fraud or cheating is employed. The Dems cannot help themselves and steal every close election and therefore give themselves away by mathematical postulation.
“Half the population is Mexican?”
You haven’t been down here to So. Tex. lately have you? More like 2/3 or more.
.
This assumes that Democrat voters and Republican voters are likely to be equally stupid and mark ballots incorrectly and/or that Republican and Democrat officials who are counting ballots in counties are equally stupid in tabulating the results.
